Booking NCL from Australia

After cruising on the Epic in 2013 we decided to book another NCL - Pride of America but even after discussions with different reputable travel agents you don't seem to get the added extras when booking from Australia - booking early (18months) didn't make any difference, upgrades, onboard credits don't seem to apply even our Latitudes points meant nothing I realise Pride of America is a bit of a unique cruise but after everything i read on cruise critic is Australia the exception??? Could you please advise if you know otherwise as its a bit disappointing.

Many others have suggested that to get the "perks" most talk about you should book with a U.S. travel agent. It appears that some countries do not receive the same benefits as we do in the bookings. Something to do with the travel protections offered by other countries.

I had wondered that :( Thought about booking direct with NCL but you get directed straight to the Australian Website.

You might get more direct experience by posting your question on the Australia/New Zealand Cruisers forum, about half way down the list of forums. Someone there has probably done some research on the same issue.
