MaiTaiMary Posted April 17, 2014 Author #51 Share Posted April 17, 2014 I'm looking at a copy of the Fun Times for our upcoming cruise. On the second Sea Day, they have the "Punchliners Comedy Brunch". How is this different from the regular "Sea Day Brunch"?
Qchell Posted April 17, 2014 #52 Share Posted April 17, 2014 The comedians do a 2 min routine from time to time... but I think they did away with that recently and it will be just Sea Day when you get on the ship. Rare Terre Posted April 17, 2014 #53 Share Posted April 17, 2014 We go closer to the end of the brunch time and get more "lunch" food items. I love the tomato soup!
jackparts Posted April 17, 2014 #54 Share Posted April 17, 2014 (edited) I've found that even in the MDR, there was no such thing as without the ?? Meals always came as on the menu. Hate to get a plate of veggies swimming around that I do not like. Same goes for the Sea Day Brunch. Hate to get the magnificent double chop with a fried broken runny egg. Yes,I did ask and emphasized for scrambled eggs, but got the other instead. Edited April 17, 2014 by jackparts
maldenmusic Posted April 17, 2014 #55 Share Posted April 17, 2014 Is this offered fleet wide or just on certain ships?
Ontario_Cruiser Posted April 17, 2014 #56 Share Posted April 17, 2014 I'm looking at a copy of the Fun Times for our upcoming cruise. On the second Sea Day, they have the "Punchliners Comedy Brunch". How is this different from the regular "Sea Day Brunch"? What date is the fun times from? They no longer have the comedy brunch, and that is a good thing. It was replaced by the Sea Day brunch sometime last fall, I think. Last August, we timed our brunch to coincide with the comedy (it was every hour) but the comedian that was to perform that evening told a few family friendly jokes and then disappeared. It was almost like a advertisement for the later show - but these shows were standing room only so there was no need. I was glad to hear that they were just having the brunch with a similar menu. watermelonqueen99 Posted April 17, 2014 #57 Share Posted April 17, 2014 We went to brunch twice on the Magic last week. The first time we went, we both had pancakes with a side of hashbrowns. They were ok. Very similar in taste to those frozen pancakes you can get in a box in the freezer section of the grocery store, the ones you pop in the microwave. The hashbrowns, on the other hand, were awful. You get two small, disc-shaped potato patties that have the strangest taste...like a vague fishy taste. The second time we went to brunch, my husband had the huevos rancheros, and he said it ok. I had the mac and cheese with bacon and fried chicken strips, and it ended up being one of the best things I had during the entire cruise! I felt guilty for having mac and cheese for breakfast (we went at 8:30), but hey, it's vacation, right. :D
wanderingjew Posted April 17, 2014 #58 Share Posted April 17, 2014 To me the brunch has very little for the lunch, breakfast is good to me its a deal breaker unless CCL is 200-300 less I would rather sail NCL or RCCL

MissKIA Posted April 17, 2014 #60 Share Posted April 17, 2014 (edited) Is this new? Ive been red but havent received such coupon. I'm pretty sure it's been around as long as the Red VIFP level has been around. In fact, I'm positive that's when the free drink coupon began was when they changed the past guest program. You get the coupon on embarkation day *I believe) along with all of the other papers they give you. You may have missed it. It's got a coupon at the bottom with your name on it to tear off. justusfour2014 Posted April 17, 2014 #61 Share Posted April 17, 2014 I believe the "Sea Day Brunch" is new since the last time I cruised (4 years ago). I've never heard of it. Can somebody tell me more about it? Is it a buffet or sit down? Does anybody have pictures? There isn't a fee, is there? How is the food? :) We did it several times on the Fascination in March. I loved it! Food was great, and you got loads more bacon. :D But, I'm not a buffet style kinda girl. . .
