DnR Posted April 7, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 7, 2014 I have numerous packing check lists for the caribbean, but nothing that will help me organize for Alaska. Anyone have a list they would care to share?

serendipity1499 Posted April 8, 2014 #3 Share Posted April 8, 2014 (edited) When we went to Alaska we dressed in layers..We took a land tour first followed by the ship from Seward to Vancouver.. I packed Jeans & slacks for both DH & me with lightweight long sleeve blouses, shirts, 2 Sweatshirts each & 2 dress sweaters.. I had combo jacket/raincoat with a zip out lining.. DH borrowed a down jacket which rolled up into nothing.. We both wore pull over hats which covered our ears..My hat was fur lined.. Purchased ski gloves at Burlington coat factory & had fleece scarves..Took a few short sleeve shirts for DH too..He wore a suit for formal nights & I wore a long frilly skirt with two different tops with bling for formal night..He also took his sport jacket.. Since we live in Fla I bought a pair of short boots for me & tote boots which went over his shoes for DH.. Took umbrella's too.. The most important thing to do is layer as some days it became warm & we were able to remove some sweaters.. Don't forget binoculars & cameras.. BTW also bought long sleeved silk underwear for me & long johns on top & bottom for DH.. Had to buy the underware on-line.. Hope this will help.. Enjoy your cruise.. CowPrincess Posted April 8, 2014 #4 Share Posted April 8, 2014 Use the "search" function on the Alaska forum.. try "packing list" for starters http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=&f=55 As Serendipity1499 says, for clothing -- layering is the key.
