seeing this world Posted April 11, 2014 #26 Share Posted April 11, 2014 I put in our luggage what i like to call the adventure information sheet on the adventure information sheet, every piece of luggage gets a sheet. name, home addy, home phone number, where we are staying with hotel information, cruise information. cell number. This way if the luggage goes for adventure on its own vacation without us, and the luggage tags are ripped off, which has had happened to us. We have a hope of getting our luggage back. We also take a picture of our luggage, we have wild looking luggage. no brown, black red, green or blue luggage for us :D. Taking a picture of our luggage has saved us once. Airline downloaded a picture of our luggage and we got it back. They did tell us having the picture helped return it us faster. it goes in with out fail, it is important as our passports our. passport we take photocopies and keep seperately , but i also have scanned copies in our email too.. ETHS1965 Posted April 14, 2014 #27 Share Posted April 14, 2014 We are on the Legend from California to Australia. I am trying to gather what we will need for this 23 day cruise. This gives me more ideas of things to add to my list. Any more items to add?
Rare Terre Posted April 14, 2014 #28 Share Posted April 14, 2014 Don't forget to get your pedi and mani BEFORE you leave. Much cheaper at home than on the cruise. If you're looking for suggestions on what to take, in addition to all the above items, we take a small fan because the cabins are never cold enough for us. Sometimes we leave for the cabin steward if he wants it. We, too, take a flashlight in case the power goes out. The flashlight came in handy when we went to Hawaii a few years ago in the lava tube, so you never know when you may need it! I used to take a nightlight, but now we just leave the light on in the bathroom and leave the door cracked open.
bailey57 Posted April 14, 2014 #29 Share Posted April 14, 2014 (edited) Nightlight OR those little fake votive candles. They're about 6/$3 at the big box places. Large binder clips to clip towels to beach chairs. Keeps 'em from flapping around (or flying off) in the wind. Suction cup hooks for the bathroom - never enough hooks or towel racks for me. Wrap-style hair towel for just out of the shower. Bottle of wine & opener. :D Edited April 14, 2014 by bailey57
SaltBreezeCruiser Posted April 14, 2014 #30 Share Posted April 14, 2014 Okay, here I go!! Big countdown. We leave next Sunday for our cruise! So super excited! Its been a couple of years since we cruised so please help me remember those last minute important things I might forget???? Or Tips of things to do on The Magic! Excited! :) So - mostly just saying howdy since we're on the same cruise :D . But I would say you can't forget something to line the drawers with (like tissue paper). Sorry I'm a germaphobe, so thats how I roll - and a travel pack of clorox wipes so I can clean all surfaces in our stateroom before doing anything! Someone else already mentioned large binder clips for the towels so they don't blow away - could also use clothes pins. I know you can get scolded for this, but if you have a balcony, bungee cords come in handy to hold that door open if you want to feel that ocean breeze in your room. kelkel2 Posted April 14, 2014 #31 Share Posted April 14, 2014 One thing that I did buy on my last cruise was a carnival lanyard for my room card. I really enjoy not having to carry a purse or a wristlet or whatever but you still need your card and I don't always have pockets with what I'm wearing. Well on our first cruise i struggled with what to do with my card so I finally gave in and bought one of those lanyards and I always have to remember to bring it with me!! It seems stupid until you have no pockets and nowhere to put that stupid card!!
cruiseqt3.14 Posted April 14, 2014 #32 Share Posted April 14, 2014 On past cruises I have always budgeted to get either a mani or pedi on board, just the nice little basic one, it's more than the 12 dollars I pay at home but on the first day at sea it's nice to start and relax and look at the ocean. Sets the tone for Vacay for me Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Smiling Cruiser Posted April 14, 2014 #34 Share Posted April 14, 2014 Wow! Nice job with that list. We use an over the door shoe rack for commonly shared items. I bought two magnetic wreath hooks at the craft store and remove the over the door hooks. I hang the shoe bag with the magnets on the wall next to the couch. Everything is easy to see and grab. Holds our cameras sunglasses, extra batteries, etc. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
shadoweyeone Posted April 14, 2014 #35 Share Posted April 14, 2014 nice idea. BTW, I found on most that if you go to the casino the first day they will punch you room card and give you a lanyard for it.
dljones Posted April 14, 2014 #36 Share Posted April 14, 2014 That is a list!! Holy Kitchen Sink Batman!!! I saw another one somewhere, maybe even on this thread - take a picture of your name, address, phone so that if you lose your camera you might just get it back! Never thought of that one.
