Theodorable Posted April 12, 2014 #3 Share Posted April 12, 2014 So sad. Look how small the shell is. What a shame.
LandlockedCruiser01 Posted April 12, 2014 #4 Share Posted April 12, 2014 (edited) Live conch. Of course you gotta remove the conch :p. You're obviously not going to cook it in its shell. Mmm, good eatin'! Tastes like a cross between scallops and calamari. Edited April 12, 2014 by LandlockedCruiser01
Laurie S. Posted April 12, 2014 #5 Share Posted April 12, 2014 Different species of conch have different size shells.
geovet Posted April 12, 2014 #6 Share Posted April 12, 2014 There is a way the locals use to remove them. There is a spot near the top that you make a small hole to release the conch.

Turn it open side down and count down to the third space between the crowns and knock a small hole in the shell...insert a thin (paring)knife in and rotate it in the opening to cut the small flesh attached to the shell...the animal will fall out. To a previous poster those are queen conchs of different age(size).
