Thanks for the TR! can't wait for our turn.

you and the hubby seem to be happy & relaxed in all the pictures = a good cruise imo:D

that is an interesting view via the windows in your cabin. I thought those in the front of the ship had a 'secret deck' in the front:confused:, doesn't look like yours did. I need to look into booking one of those cabins. Did you feel much in way of turbulence?

Okay, spill the beans...where exactly is bonsai? must have sushi fix lol

how'd u score the strawberries from JH?

I just don't like "interrupting" people while they are posting. Thanks for all the pics, we are going on our first cruise in October on Fantasy and can't wait. I am trying to "get to know" the ships so I know which ones we wanna be on. I think Sunshine is on the top of that list. :)

Also, you mentioned in the title of the thread, Cheers. How did that work for you? We will be trying it on ours, very excited.

Thank you for the questions! There was no secret deck that we could find. The movement was almost none, even all the way forward.

Bonsai is on 4! Just aft of the casino on 5, toward Limelight. It is so worth the visit!

Thanks! We did Cheers last year and know that by the drinks that we like that it works for us. It did again by far! We love mojitos by the pool (8.75) and many drinks from Alchemy (9.95 with upgrade liquor). We still haven't counted our drinks on our statement but never had fewer than 6 a day and 3 times had our 15. It was just so nice to have that paid up front and we also tipped an extra dollar or so every few drinks or so as I think with the deal we were getting there should have been more gratuity.

thanx - any idea of the hours the sushi is available?

wanted to mention I loved the shot of the pedicure by the waterfall area...what deck? we have 4 sea days, hope to snag that view at least one day but not sure I'll make 6:30 am. what time did the area start to fill up?

I was lucky to pick up FTTF. So nice not to have to lug our carryon until room is ready. Do you know what time you received your luggage?

Thanks! I had the same design on my ring fingers and French on the rest the same. I loved it. I believe deck 11 is the one with the pool. I think after 7 those spots are probably gone. I went in my robe so if I wanted to sleep I could, lol.

We love FTTF!!! I'm watching for it (there are no excursions showing yet) for our next cruise. Our luggage was there when we checked back around 2 but we were gone for a while. We were all unpacked long before muster. It was great. :D

Great review. How awesome to meet a couple that had you over to their home before you left. We were on the cruise the week before you. We loved the ship especially the Serenity. I would wait until early afternoon to go to Serenity to get a seat and ever had a problem. Great hot tub...actually hot.

Loved your room pic and sunrise.

We've been back home for 5 days now and I always enjoy reading reviews of others, so I'll try to remember some details and add some pictures over the next days.

For those who like a quick summary:

Loved:

*A sweet friend of ours surprised us with room decorations! I was in tears when I saw it. She also sent strawberries one night and John Heald also sent strawberries on another night!

*FTTF, it was so great to drop off our bags by 11:30 and be all unpacked long before muster drill. It almost felt like a whole extra day to us. We'd do it again and it was recognized by every staff member from dropping our luggage to getting our sail and sign cards and we were quickly directed to special lines and seating area.

*Serenity, but get there early if you want seating by the pool

*Cuchina dinner, we've had it for lunch before but dinner was possibly our best meal on the ship. Can't wait to have it again.

*Sunset MDR 6pm, we had table 205, a fantastic booth for 2! Our dining team was so great, food was all great, hot if hot and cold if cold and they had us out of there in just under an hour every night, even on elegant night. Granted we only had dessert there one night so that would take a bit longer.

*Alchemy, Ioana (Uwanna) was wonderful and her creativity with infused flavors was something we enjoyed every day, along with cucumber sunrises

*Our room, scenic oceanview 9109. Beautiful sunrises right from our bed and the captain's view. We felt like we were driving the ship :D

*Our room stewards, Ivan and Agus. They were so friendly and kept our room looking great.

*Shrimp burritos at Blue Iguana

*Sushi at Bonsai, wow. Shrimp tempura, California roll and spicy tuna rolls were so good.

Liked:

*Jiji's dinner, everything was pretty spicy and the pork belly was the star of our meal.

*Jiji's lunch, there were 2 lines and it seemed to be a lot quicker than we've experienced in the past.

*That there were so many options for included foods during the day. We only visited the buffet one time for breakfast because there were so many other things to try.

Disappointed but not cruise ruiners:

*Missed having the interactive tv for room service and account monitoring. There was never a line though at the kiosk and we could check it there.

*Guys Burgers, we've had them on the Liberty and the Breeze and they were excellent. We tried a few times on the Sunshine, and even right at opening we never got a warm and juicy burger. Every one of them were way over cooked and cold. Good thing the shrimp burritos were just a few steps away!

*Getting around to things on deck 4, up down up down turn around get lost give up. That was pretty much our time on this deck, except we found Bonsai and wish that it was located better like on the Breeze as you have to specifically be looking for it to find it.

I'll add more and some favorite pics as I love seeing these in other reviews but must get ready for work now.

While we were cruising, we met some folks from New Orleans. We had a blast with them and hope to keep in touch and get together again some day.

On our day back in New Orleans before flying home, they came and got us from our hotel and took us to their home in Metairie and cooked barbecued shrimp (whole!) for us and also did a crab boil with blue crabs, potatoes, corn on the cob, sausage, garlic and a bunch of other veggie things. It was quite a treat, I'm sure, as they tried to teach me how to open the crabs!

We enjoyed the afternoon with them and had a true taste of southern hospitality!

Thanks for the review! We're in 9122 on our cruise in July so I loved seeing the pics of the room. Can I ask how much the portraits from elegant night cost? They look so professional! I'm thinking of getting a family pic one night but am afraid of how much it would be! Was there a sitting fee too?

The 8x10 pictures were around $23 I think and the small ones about $14. There are no sitting fees and they have different backgrounds all over! We could have spent a fortune on great pictures as they do such a nice job. We took a special on one with the canvas and so for 59.95 got a 16x20 canvas, the 8x10 of that photo and also 4 small photos of that same picture.

Our room was really great and if we didn't love balconies we'd do it again in a heartbeat :D

Just found your review...love that OV view. My DH needs a balcony, but sometimes I'd like to save a little money. Can you walk out in front of that room? The railing didn't look too secure so wasn't sure.

Thanks for taking the time to write and post pictures.
