2015 Brides!

Recommended Posts

Ahhhhhh! Yay! It's so crazy how a group of people come together on here and we are all very excited for each other. Too bad we can't all take a cruise someday after we are all married to actually meet! I think it would be amazing to be able to swap stories! Haha and if I have another excuse to take a cruise I would for sure take it. :) I'm so beyond excited for these next couple of months to fly by. It was -37 degree windchill here last night and a high of 0 degrees (why the heck do I live here?) So each and everyday I am more then ready to get the heck out of here! Ahhhhhhh!

Any excuse to cruise! I hope my almost husband loves cruising as much as I do. This will be his first.

-17 wind chill here last night. I am at the airport right now for my volunteer job and thinking, maybe I should go ahead and fly south and meet my honey when he flies down on the 24th. Lol

Not sure if any of you are interested in this, but I thought it was a great idea. So during the wedding I have a videographer and photographer for the wedding in St Thomas. But I wanted something to remember the time on the cruise with all the friends and family that are joining us.

There's a company that you can upload videos and photos and they will turn it all into a video. Kind of like the videos for weddings but it's for the whole vacation. If anyone is interested let me know and I'll tell you the website.

Other than that, nothing new. Waiting on my shoes to come in the mail. And for tax return. I have to pay off my remaining balance this month which is a whopping $777.

Am I the only one excited for tax return time?

My kids are all grown so my tax return days have disappeared. Lol. Ahhh but I remember those days well.

Hi all! Glad to hear that everyone has made it through the holiday! It was blistery cold here last night also; the actual temp was -25 this morning with windchill -44. I have a friend who lives in Key West and he informed me that it was 62 down there this AM, so it's cold all over!

I've spent a good portion of the morning planning our "engagement party." It's not really an engagement party....but we're going with that term so it's a reason to have a party. We are HUGE snowmobilers, so I've planned a weekend for the same weekend we got engaged to go on a long trip with a bunch of our friends and stay at a "mansion" in the ADK for the weekend.

I am so excited for you Heather!!!! It would be most awesome if we all were able to take a cruise together and meet. I nearly died from excitement last night I found out that New Kids on the block (my favorite band from ya know...when I was like 10 years old) has a cruise each year! I told Troy that I am booking it and he laughed and said have fun.

After the wedding we are taking a short tour of the island on a trolley and then pub crawling it back to the ship...Margaritaville will be our first stop and I'm working with the gal there for us to be able to have a first dance. It'll be a surprise for Troy - although he probably could care less about it all...it's something that I really want to do, and since I'm the planner I am going to do it. :-)

You have no idea how much I love NKOTB. I met them once and they were as adorable in person as I thought they would be. ;) but yes I would FOR SURE do a NKOTB cruise!!!

Are any of y'all going to play? I read they usually ask the person married the shortest so if its within the cruise you are it. I am hoping to play, I went through old forums and found the questions.

1. Where and when did you first meet?

2. On a scale of 1-10, rate your first kiss.

3. Two part question: Who was your husband dating before you and what did you hate about person (for the wife) and what did you love about her (for the husband)?

4. You haven't seen ugly until you've seen my wife's ______

5. What's your husband's most disgusting habit?

6. Where is your husband more macho? In bed, out of bed, or in his head?

7. When your wife bends over, what does her butt look like to you?

8. Your husband steps out of the shower, which of the following describes him? A dump truck, a stretch limo, or a little pink Volkswagen with two flat tires?

9. If you had a parrot in your bedroom, what would be his first words?

10. What animal best describes your husband and why?

This is my absolute favorite show on any cruise! It's always hysterical!! I really hope we get to play....but if we do get picked I also hope that Troy has a few beverages in him before hand; he's quite shy in front of crowds and embarrasses easily.

This is a random thought, at a random hour (12:15am), but I am just realizing that I am going to have to FORCE Troy to go shopping for groom/mens attire. We have discussed and agreed on what we want but I refuse to order stuff without first looking at the color, feeling the fabric, etc. Oy-vey....we are talking about the man who (in the 3 years we have been together) has not once been to the mall, bought himself even a new t-shirt, or .....well, he did wear dress clothes this past fall, but only because he was in a friend's wedding. Wish me luck gals!

Good luck. Getting Mike out to shop was hard. When I finally did he almost gave up because he couldn't find what he liked. Finally as a last ditch effort I got him to go to one more place with the promise of going for ice cream afterwards, no joke. It was a small local business where we paid more than we would have at a chain store but he was happy. They had two men Out measuring and fitting him and he was finally comfortable. He bought his outfit and I took him for ice cream. You can do it.

HI Ladies,

Bride's mom here -

My daughter has wanted a Bahama beach sunset wedding since our family's Millennium trip to the Atlantis. We would like to book the wedding ceremony followed by cake and champagne at the same location and then return to the ship for dinner. We are leaning toward RCL Enchantment or Majesty.

Does anyone have preferences?

Does anyone have suggestions for a Bahama location in addition to the Atlantis?

or recommendations for a Bahama Island wedding planner?

thoughts or concerns about issues that we have not thought about?

I know that the Bahamas has a 24 hour residency requirement prior to the wedding. I am sure that someone else here, or a wedding planner that is familiar with cruise weddings in the Bahamas, can give you more information about this. It's just something to keep in mind.

Lacy is right about the residency requirement. If you want an excellent review from someone who did a lot of research, this thread will be helpful:

Hello! I'm getting married on the Liberty of the Seas in exactly 80 days. We're marrying while in port and then using the cruise as our "wedding cruise". Has anyone had any, or know anyone who has, experience with the Royal Caribbean wedding coordinators?

I'm letting my fiancé handle most of this because he's been on about 10x as many cruises as I have, but curiosity is getting the best of me - along with anxiousness since we haven't heard from them yet.

I feel like a lot of us are going through Carnival but keep asking! People pop up with advice all the time.

Does anyone else feel bombarded with crafts?! Lol I feel like my own personal Hobby Lobby. I have made so much stuff over the last few days my hands hurt! Hahahaa! Less then 3 months now....holy crap.

I'm BEYOND exhausted trying to figure out my groomsmen wear and my groom. We bought turquoise shirts to match our swatch then low and behold, we get the dresses and they are not even close to the swatch.....(i LOVE the color though) but now we are at a stand still because men are men! Urgh. Hahaha my Groom is pickier than me I feel like. I'm just trying to find something that works for everyone. But finding Ivory mens shirts is not easy. (I think thats what we are switching to)

Hey, inkykitty, I'm gettting married at sea on the Independence of the Seas on February 2, 19 days from now! If you had asked me day before yesterday, I wouldn't have known the exact date, only that it was sometime during our cruise that leaves on January 31.

We signed our contract in May 2014, then didn't hear anything until October 20, when a Royal Romance rep contacted us to start arranging our marriage license from the Bahamas. Once all that was taken care of, we didn't hear anything else until our Wedding Specialist emailed us on November 18 with an information sheet to fill out with choices for the music and other details. We returned that sheet the same day, and were supposed to get a call to go over it, but then we never heard anything back from her! Ever! I got worried just before Christmas and contacted the main Royal Romance number, and the person that answered the phone was really nice, but just referred us back to our specialist who was out of the office.

Finally, on January 12, we got an email from our new specialist who said the old one was no longer with Royal Caribbean. Yesterday we had a phone call with her where we chose the venue, wedding date and time, and went over the details on the information sheet we filled out. For someone that doesn't like waiting until the last minute, it was hard waiting, but I figure it will all work out in the end.

The details are probably a little different for an embarkation day wedding, but I still wouldn't expect to hear very much until pretty late in the process. Good luck and congratulations!
