gms5002 Posted April 17, 2014 #26 Share Posted April 17, 2014 saw these taxis coming and going from the hotel called 888Taxi and drove poor DW crazy about the noon shuttle being too late and wanting to get there earlier so she relented and we got the 888taxi. Awesome service. Driver took our luggage and for $14.99 took us right to front door of pier and delivered our luggage to the porters. I was planning to using 888taxi in a few weeks...about what time did you call and how long did it take for someone to get there?

They are constantly coming and going and they got there so quick that we hadn't brought the luggage down! Called between 1045 and 11. They were there within 5 minutes. gms5002 Posted April 17, 2014 #30 Share Posted April 17, 2014 (edited) They are constantly coming and going and they got there so quick that we hadn't brought the luggage down! Called between 1045 and 11. They were there within 5 minutes. Great! I was a little worried it was just one guy with a cab or something, not much info online about them. I'd much rather cab it when I'm ready to go than try and deal with a shuttle. Looking forward to the rest of your review! Eng23 Posted April 17, 2014 #31 Share Posted April 17, 2014 Carnival Sensation Freedom was having a lifeboat drill. This drill delayed our departure slightly This is the Grandeur! They are so far away! Maybe there was a reason for that!!! Ugh! I think this was a port of call for them. I have pics as we sailed by them on the way out and the ship was empty Great start! I've sailed the Freedom twice and had a great time each time. Generally when there are multiple ships in port for their weekly departure's, a visiting port call ship (such as the pictured Grandeur) will use the old Dome Terminal for the day. Motleu Posted April 18, 2014 Author #34 Share Posted April 18, 2014 This may be the new cruise terminal. The cab driver said they were building the largest cruise terminal in the world. Not sure if I believe that but what do I know! Passing the Grandeur!

Motleu Posted April 18, 2014 Author #37 Share Posted April 18, 2014 Now I will post some pics of the ship - so many areas to capture on film. First is the Shipshape Center - I wouldn't be caught dead there but DW spent time spinning! You go girl - just don't wake me! I wanted to put the kids in here a few times! Motleu Posted April 18, 2014 Author #40 Share Posted April 18, 2014 Now some commentary on Adventure Ocean - Our group had a 13 year old boy, 12 year old girl, 9 year old boy and girl and 6 year old girl. The 13 yo was shy and tagged along some of the time with his 12 yo cousin who is much more outgoing. He also spent much time at Flowrider and got quite good. The 12 yo was upset with the programming for the 12-14 year old group because as the younger of the group she was a little intimidated. Also, she complained that the events for that group were unstructured and permitted older teens to participate with the younger teens. So she spent much of her time with us. The three younger kids loved AO and had check out privileges (other than the 6 yo) and cam and went as they pleased. Sometimes they plowed through dinner to go up to AO! This area was outside of Fuel and right next to Flowrider and the Sports Deck Steps up to Flowrider

Motleu Posted April 18, 2014 Author #43 Share Posted April 18, 2014 So I am going to deviate from what I planned. I have the pics in order by day obviously and I was taking pics of the ship throughout the week so I am going to proceed on a day by day basis and there will be a smorgasbord of pics of the ship from each day. I've been wanting to use that word all day. Food porn to come!
Motleu Posted April 18, 2014 Author #44 Share Posted April 18, 2014 I don't know why I didn't take pics of the room all at once but here is one. This shows the double Pullman setup. Obviously I wasn't up there. I was worried from the moment I booked this room - Oh yeah, Deck 10, 1691. A little tight with me and three ladies! But we managed! RC has very comfortable beds. This was the first time in many cruises that I got a real bed. Normally I would be stuck on the pullout sofa. Not so comfy. But this setup worked pretty well. As I said I was worried about the Pullmans and whether they had rails and as you can see they did! Although the first night my DD's DVD player slipped between the cracks and crashed down between us below! No harm! BTW - Lester was the room steward. He was from the Phillipines and was awesome. Ice was always there. He got me wine glasses and a corkscrew. I have a pic of him coming up later an a great story about him later as well. I have more room pics somewhere so they will pop up at some point. The menu pics came out so-so. Food Porn! This was the marinated grilled chicken of the classics menu. It was surprisingly good.
