jcs56 Posted July 30, 2005 #1 Share Posted July 30, 2005 I am hoping to book with Nativeway for Stingray City in Nov. How do you get there? Are you put on the boat at the port or do you take a bus or van first?
Ellya Posted July 30, 2005 #2 Share Posted July 30, 2005 You will take a small bus or van from the port area to a marina. From there you take the boat to the sting ray area (which is some distance off shore).

zydecocruiser Posted July 30, 2005 #7 Share Posted July 30, 2005 You take a bus or van about 5 or 6 miles for Nativeway. From the dock area to the yacht club. http://www.caribbean-on-line.com/cy/wcmap.shtml
jcs56 Posted July 31, 2005 Author #8 Share Posted July 31, 2005 OHHH That close?? That's good for me!! I have a little bit of a bus phobia...so if its only a few miles I should be a-ok!! Think we will go with Nativeway.
zydecocruiser Posted July 31, 2005 #9 Share Posted July 31, 2005 I think most Stingray tours leave from the Yacht Harbor. Soto's boat location is a little closer and you are in a van, if that makes a difference. Probably all would let you pay your own way in a taxi to meet the boat, if that would help. Stingray Sandbar is one of the best excursions, anywhere.

vmom Posted August 24, 2005 #11 Share Posted August 24, 2005 All the excursions take you to a nearby small pier area to pick up the excursion boat. Its maybe a 10 minute drive. Not far. the buses are small...maybe 20 people max. Not the size of a regular bus...more like a large super van. Seats are padded and comfortable. Its really a short but comfortable ride. Keep in mind when booking an excursion that the start time is listed as the time that it starts after you have been taken to the boat. You typically will meet up with the excursion bus/van about 30-40 minutes before that time. AND don't forget that in Grand Cayman all the ships have to use tenders to transport the passengers to shore. Just pointing this out to you so that you will allow enough time in the am. Also, some ships will change the ship time to be the same as Grand Cayman time, and some ships' time will be an hour later than Grand Cayman time. Also important to keep in mind when deciding on a tour.
