Cruisin KLS Posted April 19, 2014 #2 Share Posted April 19, 2014 If we booked the Hotel Milano, how would it be to walk to the ship with luggage? If not feasible, how much would a taxi run? gary Which ship are you sailing on? Not all of the ships dock right in OSJ. Adventure, Jewel and Celebrity Summit dock at the Pan American Pier which is not walking distance. Last year we stayed at Hotel Casablanca, a few doors down from the Milano, taxi to Pan American pier was around $17-$20 including our 3 bags. Walking is feasible if your ship is right in OSJ. gtaylor Posted April 21, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted April 21, 2014 We're on Carnival, so right there in OSJ. gary
sippican Posted April 21, 2014 #4 Share Posted April 21, 2014 You can walk, but be aware the sidewalks are very narrow, bumpy, cobblestone, with holes. You may encounter quite a few obstacles such as trash bins, cars, construction barriers, etc. Pretty much guaranteed to be hot and humid. Once you get to the waterfront, the sidewalks are wide and smooth. So doable if you are prepared. Taxi should be under $20.
dolfndreams Posted April 22, 2014 #5 Share Posted April 22, 2014 Our last trip (2013) we were during the San Sebastian festival and were easily able to walk with both large and small roller luggage from Victory to the Hotel Milano; it wasn't by choice but no taxis were going into town; but truly not a bad walk at all and that was through crowds. And if you are going to the ship it is downhill:)
