wrigley80 Posted April 29, 2014 Author #253 Share Posted April 29, 2014 (edited) After my dad and I sat in the Atrium for awhile....we decided that it was time to head off to bed. We had a full day of fun onboard the Dream On our way back to our cabin we walked through the upper level of the Crimson Dining Room. The upper level is for Early Dining time guests. This little guy was waiting for us when we returned to the cabin.....I love the Towel Elephant. Well that is the end of Day #2 onboard. Our first Full day at sea was a Fun One.....and we are ready for another one tomorrow. Are You ready for more Fun :D Edited April 29, 2014 by wrigley80
wrigley80 Posted April 29, 2014 Author #254 Share Posted April 29, 2014 On our second Full Day at Sea we decided to sleep in a little.....we woke up around 9:00 am and were out of the cabin by 9:45. So decided to just go to the Lido for breakfast this morning. As I mentioned before I am not a fan of the Lido for breakfast and this experience didn't change my mind.....there was kid in front of me in line maybe 8 or 9 who just reached his hand in to get some sausage. Ummm I am gonna pass on the Sausage today. I decided to just stick with cereal and a few Danish. I was so enjoying the Sun....after our brutal winter the sun felt so good T-shirts from the Red Frog Pub It's too early....nobody is Drinking yet ;)
wrigley80 Posted April 29, 2014 Author #255 Share Posted April 29, 2014 The chair hogs were out in full force already this morning. There are 8 of these umbrellas around the Lido Pool area. That's a nice touch when the afternoon sun gets to be too warm A chair fit for a King Whoa....that's a long way down
wrigley80 Posted April 29, 2014 Author #256 Share Posted April 29, 2014 I will never understand why people think they can jump from one deck to another on a cruise ship  That's not a wise decision It was time to hit up the Candy Shop.....Cherry on Top :) We got a couple bags of candy to take to afternoon trivia
wrigley80 Posted April 29, 2014 Author #257 Share Posted April 29, 2014 Hi, Brianna. Just a reminder. Seen on your post you are going on the Libertyi in March. The high season for spring break is March thru April. I live in Florida and I know Florida schools are on spring break in March. I went on a cruise with my 8 year old grand daughter this past March on the Allure and it was announced that there were 2,000 kids on this cruise. I love children so it didn't bother me,but heard alot of folks complaining because the kids were taking over the pools and elevators. Happy sailing, Gary:) Yeah we usually always cruise in March/April. So we are fully aware of the Spring Break crowds. Sometimes its not too bad while other times you begin to second guess your cruise date that you chose. ;)

wrigley80 Posted April 29, 2014 Author #260 Share Posted April 29, 2014 We decided to make our way through the Casino to make our annual Donation.....which is exactly what we did  All these slot machines were just begging to take my money.....they were teasing me :p Casino Bar. After my donation to the Carnival slot machines....I was ready for a drink and make it a stiff one
wrigley80 Posted April 29, 2014 Author #261 Share Posted April 29, 2014 We had been busy this morning exploring so it was now time for lunch. We decided we wanted to try the BBQ on the Lanai today. It is on Deck 5 Starboard side towards the back of the ship.....just follow the smells. It starts at 12:00 and runs until 2:30 pm on ever sea day. There was a line when I arrived at 12:00 pm but it went fast once they started serving lunch They served Sliders, chicken/steak tacos, chicken quesadilla, and hot dogs. Chicken Tacos The food was very good.....we tried it again on the last sea day. Definitely a nice feature without going up to Lido for Lunch
wrigley80 Posted April 29, 2014 Author #262 Share Posted April 29, 2014 After lunch we headed up to our favorite spot to relax....on deck 11 aft overlooking the Aft Pool. The seas were so calm We stayed out there for a while and then headed back to the cabin and this was waiting for us My first ship on a stick on the Dream and I didn't even have to win at Trivia....thanks John
wrigley80 Posted April 29, 2014 Author #263 Share Posted April 29, 2014 We left the cabin and headed to the Atrium Bar. Today was the Past Guest Party....which is always fun to scream and holler for the ships that you have been on I love the angle of this picture Notice the bottomless bubbles sticker on my dad's sail and sign card. He bought the soda sticker. This was the first cruise that I didn't buy it. I brought 60 of the single-serve drink packets from home with my Fat Tuesday Water Bottle. I carried my water bottle everywhere and whenever I wanted a drink I just had the bar staff fill my water bottle and hen I put a drink packet in. his was so much beer than pop. I definitely didn't miss not having pop to drink :)
wrigley80 Posted April 29, 2014 Author #264 Share Posted April 29, 2014 Our Past Guest Party invitation was at 3:00 pm which I though was kinda odd because usually they are at 4:30 or so because then after the party people can go straight into dinner. After our Past Guest party was over we found out that there were in fact 2 arties to accommodate everyone.....one party from 3:00-4:00 and the other one from 4:30-5:30 pm. Time to start drinking..... Hennie was our Cruise Director. He was OK....this was our second time having him as a CD. The first time on the Freedom in March 2013 and he was AWFUL but he was a little better this time around. wrigley80 Posted April 29, 2014 Author #265 Share Posted April 29, 2014 After about 15 minutes I asked a bar waiter for a Mango Swirl....he said it may take him a few minutes to get back to me. I told him I was in no rush. When he returned with my Mango Swirl.....he brought me two of them. He said, "Here is one for now and one for later." I tipped him 3 bucks and said Thank-You All the Senior Officers plus Hennie and the Captain The Captain had worked for Carnival for 28 years and been on 24 different ships The man in the middle in the striped shirt was the one onboard who had the most days at sea.....he has spent 865 days at sea on Carnival Ships  That is CRAZY
wrigley80 Posted April 29, 2014 Author #266 Share Posted April 29, 2014 We brought the bottle of champagne (our gift from John Heald) to dinner to share with whoever we sat with. It was a big hit and enjoyed by everyone If you eat in the Crimson Dining Room....hopefully you like the color Red Showtime in the Dining Room Again..... This guy was getting a little naughty with the pool. There was a lady at the table by where he was dancing throwing dollar bills at him  I think she had one too many Fun Ship Specials at the Past Guest party Uh oh the clothes were starting to come off
wrigley80 Posted April 29, 2014 Author #267 Share Posted April 29, 2014 I ordered the Jerk Pork Loin but holy moses was it HOTTTTT....I ate about 2 bites. wrigley80 Posted April 29, 2014 Author #268 Share Posted April 29, 2014 After dinner we walked around for awhile before going to the show. Tonight the show was a Comedic Juggler. That was a nice change from he usual singing and dancing shows. Dad and I both enjoyed it Tonight was Monday, April 7th and it was the night of the NCAA Mens Basketball Championship. I thought they would have it on the Seaside theater again like they did on Saturday but they couldn't have it outside because tonight was the Red Frog Deck Party. Hennie made an announcement at the Past Guest Party that anyone who wanted to watch the Championship game that it was going to be on the screen in the Main Show Lounge following the Juggler. So after the show we stayed and watched. I love College Basketball. The Championship game was Kentucky vs. UConn. The lounge was full of Kentucky fans. **** Warning kybluecruiser.....this is what I warned you about in the beginning of my review. You may want to look away Watching the game in the lounge was fun....well unless you're a Kentucky fan. UConn won the game....way to go HUSKIES After watching the game I headed back to the cabin around Midnight.
wrigley80 Posted April 29, 2014 Author #269 Share Posted April 29, 2014 I headed back to the cabin and this little guy was waiting for us on my dad's bed I haven't shown pictures of our cabin yet. We were in a modified cabin on Deck 6 right by the mid-ship elevators in cabin 6358. I wanted to try a modified cabin this time to see if it would help my dad with his vision issues in the cabin. We absolutely loved this cabin. The shower was HUGE.....enough to fit 4 people or more. And the bathroom in general was huge.
jmwg49 Posted April 29, 2014 #270 Share Posted April 29, 2014 Great review so far! Reliving an amazing vacation! That dancing waiter is Michael, perhaps the best waiter we have ever had! So much fun and excellent service! I will agree about Hennie....not the best CD we have had. A Jim Carrey wannabe and we were not impressed
wrigley80 Posted April 29, 2014 Author #271 Share Posted April 29, 2014 OK now one thing that always bothers me when I go on a Carnival Cruise is the lack of Carnival Logo apparel in the Fun Shops. I love getting a couple of Cruise Ship t-shirts on every cruise but on our last couple of cruises the Fun Shops suck. No t-shirts ever in my size.....that was definitely not the case on the Carnival Dream. I came home with 5 new Carnival shirts....we even had a crew member who worked in the Fun Shops that would put shirts aside for me and my dad when they received shipments in our size. We tipped her quite generously at the end of the cruise One of my new shirts :) And another.... ;) The bunny is ready for bed Well that my friends is the end of Day #3....next up is our Fun filled Day in Aruba on the Banana Bus

His entire team exceeded our expectations! We were sad to leave him behind! :) Oh okay. Did you come to any our roll call activities?? The people you meet onboard become lifelong friends. In 2007 we were on the Victory and met this bar waiter Harnawan from the Phillipines. Them again in 2012 we had him on the Carnival Ecstasy. He remembered my dad and I by name. That's awesome customer service. That's not the only time that we have seen the same crew member on another ship and they remember us. That's one of the reasons why we continue to cruise with Carnival
