Athena55am Posted July 31, 2005 #1 Share Posted July 31, 2005 We are looking into a cruise on this ship and have sailed on Celebrity, Carnival and Norwigan with varying degrees of non accomodation. Just like to know what to look forward to. We would like a door knocker and something to let us know if an alarm is sounding (like if the ship hit an iceburg - just kidding) and up front seating for shows we arrive for in advance. Is there some kind of Audio loop available on this ship? Thanks
etoile Posted August 1, 2005 #2 Share Posted August 1, 2005 I do know that RCCL provides interpreters - I have friends who have worked for them. (I'm a terp myself.) They also have the standard hotel kits with TTY and alerters. You do have to request a terp two months prior to sailing though. More info here: http://www.royalcaribbean.com/allaboutcruising/accessibleseas/hearingImpairment.do (Note that loops are only on Voyager-class ships though.) Athena55am Posted August 13, 2005 Author #3 Share Posted August 13, 2005 An interpreter really is not needed as my honey has done without for most of her 50 years and has great speach but was just concerned about shows ans alarms. The cruise is in 5 weeks now so ... I guess I should tell them she is deaf but I have not received anything in the mail yet. Thanks, again
wrp96 Posted August 13, 2005 #4 Share Posted August 13, 2005 You should definitely look at the link that etoile provided. It looks like RCI provides more than interpreters but you need to put in your requests in advance.
