Lady of the Lakes Posted July 31, 2005 #1 Share Posted July 31, 2005 My hubby and I do not snorkel can we still enjoy the Stingray Sandbar?
zydecocruiser Posted July 31, 2005 #2 Share Posted July 31, 2005 Yes. You don't even have to swim, although if you book a tour that also makes snorkel stop(s), you might just stay on the boat for those.
jmrfamily Posted August 1, 2005 #3 Share Posted August 1, 2005 The water averages about 4+ feet deep on the sandbar so you can stand and enjoy the stingrays. We have been there twice. The first time the water was smooth and still. However, the second time the waves were pretty significant; we could still stand, but we were pushed around quite a bit. The stingrays are wonderful -- as long as you are comfortable enough to be out on the sandbar, it is an experience you should not miss.
enjoyinglife Posted August 2, 2005 #4 Share Posted August 2, 2005 Just did the stingray tour for the 2nd time. Yes, you can stand up in the water and not have your face in it becasue it is fairly shallow. You can also have a lifevest on - if you feel like you need it on.
