Another early saver question

Recommended Posts

Right now we are booked with the military rate because at the time I wasn't ready to have my deposit be non-refundable. Now I am considering switching to early saver to take advantage of price drops later. The current military and ES rate are exactly the same, but the military includes $50 OBC. When price matching, am I correct to think that carnival only matches the rate and not the OBC? So if I switch to ES I will lose my OBC? Then I would just have to hope that the price would drop more than $50 after final payment to come out ahead? Not sure if I should gamble!

If you switch to ES you should be able to price match to the military rate which includes the $50 OBC.

I agree. Make the switch, then match to the military rate. We have been under ES, then price matched to rates that included OBC. We actually took on a slightly higher rate, but got more than that back in OBC, so we came out ahead in the end. I should point out that we had to call each time to do this. We sent in the price matching form, only to be rejected because the rate itself wasn't lower. That's when we called, and we got them to do it.
