Cruise Dragon Posted August 1, 2005 #7 Share Posted August 1, 2005 my wife and I are watching the 11:00 showing. It's fascinating how she was conceived and built. I didn't know that the QM II was built in sections. last year we were on Miracle and while we on deck waiting to disembark we saw the QM II come into port in NYC. When she was turning into the dock it looked liked she was going to scrape it, but with ease sshe pulled into the dock. My wife commented that it didn't look like the Captain was sterring the largest ship ever built but it looked like he was pulling into a parking lot space in the supper market. AFT_LOVER Posted August 1, 2005 #8 Share Posted August 1, 2005 which is a whole new look at drydocking. And their sea test with leaks happening when they attempt highest speed. Luckily cruiseships are not racing like they do with water crashing all over the front of the ship & the double wake they get in the rear.
