ROUGH SEAS Sailing Out Of Miami

Recommended Posts

What ship,is this? I can not picture it as it dosent look like any carnival ship. As far as the roughness of seas. Looks a little choppy but nothing compares to the time we were on the elation headed to mobile and got caught in a middle of a storm. That was rough. Lol

There has NEVER been a time where we sailed out of Miami and the the ship wasn't doing heavy rocking. The Gulf Stream is SQUEEZED between the island and the mainland, so that crossing is a bit queezy causing for a couple of hours, and then all of a sudden calm.

I've sailed out of Miami a few times but this is the first time I have experienced this weather. It is usually as calm as any other port for me.

Well at least you were still having fun. I imagined something like this.

On minute into this video you see a person in a white with black strips shirt flying across the floor in the middle of furniture . I hope he wasn't hurt because you didn't see him coming back.

During Hurricane Isaac on the Conquest, we had pretty rough seas.

We laughed on our way to dinner walking across the promenade deck on formal night, because with the rolling the whole line of people swayed from one side to the other. There was quite a line headed toward dinner and when we rolled right the whole line would move to the right and against that wall. When it rolled left, everyone would wind up walking next to the windows. Once everyone realized it was happening the entire area started laughing.

We also went down to deck 1 all the way forward and ran like 8 year olds, and as the ship crested a wave we slowed way down and felt really heavy, then as it went down toward the trough of a wave we felt weightless and were able to go really fast down the hallway.

So the next time you encounter rough seas and you hear 30-something year olds running down your hallway giggling at the alternating slow crawl then near weightlessness, open your door and introduce yourself!
