Dining

How do you know what MDR you are to use?

OR

Can you pick a different place each night?

I know they take pictures on board....

Can you buy a CD/jump drive with all the pictures they took of you?

OR

Can you only buy individual prints?

Do I have to buy them on the day they are posted?

OR

Can I wait till closer to the end of the trip to buy whichever ones I like?

Fast to the Fun

Is it worth the $50?

Thanks

Did you choose traditional dining or Any Time Dining? If you chose traditional dining, you're assigned a particular table, at a certain time. You cannot go back and forth between MDR restaurants if you're in traditional. If you chose the anytime option, there is a certain area in the MDR for that. But you cannot go back and forth between anytime and traditional. There are also specialty, extra cost restaurants that you can try, if you so desire.

They have a CD of the entire cruise experience that includes everything that happened on your cruise. Regular photos are available for purchase until the last night of the cruise.

Only you can decide if the cost is worth it.

When you get your S&S card, it will tell you your table and dining room.

For the pictures, if you buy a certain amount you can get them on a jump drive but it's a lot. And expensive.

And regarding FTTF, if you're an impatient person then I say yes. If you don't mind waiting then don't do it. And just remember you need to only buy one FTTF per cabin not per person.

Your type of dining will be listed on your cabin card when you check in at the pier. If you have traditional dining (assigned MDR, time and table), you go to your dining room at the assigned time the first night and you'll be shown your table (after that, when the dining room doors are opened, you go directly to your table). If you are going to eat elsewhere (specialty restaurant, buffet) some night, try to let your tablemates and waitstaff know the night before so that they're not waiting for you.

If you have the flexible dining (it might be called "anytime dining" on Carnival), you go to one of the anytime dining rooms at some point during the dinner time (you'll find this info in an info book in your cabin or on the first day's ship newsletter).

You might want to check out the Carnival website and read its FAQs. Lots of info there.

And btw, please don't use yellow in your posts. Very hard to read.

Anytime dining is whenever you want it to be and fixed dining is in a specific dining room. Your Sign and Sail Card as well as the Fun times will tell you where to go. You can always eat in the buffet, speciality restaurants or room service if you prefer.

Either/ Both

It's easier to find on the first day, but you can buy up until the last day in the early morning.

Ah, the great debate. Depends on your goals of the cruise.

What helps me decide about FTTF is priority tendering. Depending on your itinerary, if you have a couple of tender ports, you get priority tendering with FTTF. On the other side of that, if you book your excursions through Carnival instead of booking directly yourself, you get priority tendering anyway, so no need to double dip for that reason. Having your room ready when you board, and being one of the first groups to board, is well worth the $50 to me, the rest of the perks is gravy...
