A Splendid Quickie

I'm just off the Splendor with my parents and we a fantastic cruise! Cruising is for all types of people and I'm the quiet, happiest with a book type. I didn't go to any shows, mingle or frankly do much of anything besides eating, drinking, gambling, sleeping and reading:). I had an awful year last year and frankly I just needed a break. I had a ton of laughs and had a blast hanging with my parents.

Pros:

Weather

Food-Especially the Tandoor. I ate there nearly every day. Also, loved the pizza.

The staff- the maitre d honored my request for a table for 3. Our waitstaff was *wonderful. A shout out to Vergel, Karlo & Wayan at table 414! IMO they were perfect. Our room steward, Iwayan(I think) was great too. A little stingy with the toilet paper but I had to search my brain to think of something negative to say about him.

The drinks-Especially the chocolate martini:)

Cons:

Let me start by saying that I am an ex smoker. I thought people complaining about the smoke on the balcony were wall flowers or drama queens. I had smokers in both cabins next to me and two below me. I never experienced that before.

Casino-I won't mention how much I lost:)

Embarkation-I guess I should have paid attention to the email saying there would be a delay...

Balcony Door Slammers-For the love of God people, after 8 days you should not be letting your balcony door slam!!!

The pros FAR outweigh the cons. Really it was one terrific cruise. I thought the ship was clean and the decor wasn't something I'd choose for my house but it was certainly colorful and interesting.

How about the rest of the ship for a non smoker besides the casino any bars non smoking ...this is why I never get a balcony can't stand smoke. Thanks !!!!:):)

I'm sure there were bars that were smoke free but I swear I smelled cigarette fumes a lot of places. I don't know if I'm just being hyper sensitive now.
