Summerwalk Posted May 7, 2014 #53 Share Posted May 7, 2014 Took wife and (4) Grand-Children on a 4 day cruise last Oct. Told them to have fun and bring me the receipts. including gratuities for (3) rooms, drinks, wine and (2) beverage cards, total bill was $1200.00. It was the best $1200.00 I have ever spent, everyone had a wonderful time.:) Sounds like a great cruise for you and your family! If this is a competition, we wouldn't win. Even with prepaid gratuities, I don't think we ever come in under $600. But the question from the OP reminded me of a couple we met a few years ago on a 12 day cruise on Celebrity. We were sitting near them often by the pool and chatting. My husband would order a couple of beers and I had the occasional drink of the day. After about the 4th day he asked if we looked at our balance on the TV in the cabin. We said yes and it was accurate. He was very pleased to tell us then and the next couple of days that he had a zero balance. About the 6th or 7th day we were sitting there when the pool waiter came by with the tray of drinks of the day and this guy's wife raised her hand and called him over. The husband was shocked and saying "wait ... what are you doing". She handed over her sea pass and sat enjoying her drink. Price of drink was probably about $7.00. Look on the husband's face ... priceless! Cheers!
