Denise&Paul STL Posted May 17, 2014 #2 Share Posted May 17, 2014 Take a cab to Junkanoo Beach. There is a nice restaurant/bar, facilities and beach. Great day! Alternatively, it is a great place to do your dolphin swims. Unexso I think was the place we did ours. Great experience!
cruiseapril Posted May 17, 2014 #3 Share Posted May 17, 2014 We took a van cab- $5 pp to Our Lucaya- beach, casino, and lots of shops. Freeport is an industrial port- but Grand Bahama has alot to offer, so do an excursion. We thought it was interesting to see an industrial port in the Caribbean- like real work going on! OCruisers Posted May 18, 2014 #4 Share Posted May 18, 2014 Fortunately, the Terminal Area right at the ship offers lots more of interest to cruisers now than it once did. There's now a Senor Frogs as well as a variety of vendors. Good thing to keep in mind for a chilly rainy day. :) If you want to go to a beach, you'll need to take a taxi. hamp65 Posted May 18, 2014 #5 Share Posted May 18, 2014 Any suggestion for an family with an 8yr old? I have no plans so far and I am about to panic. We love the beach, but not to relax! Thanks in advance!
jaxkai Posted May 19, 2014 #6 Share Posted May 19, 2014 i love freeport, i think now its 20.00 for the use of the hotels stuff. you can leave and come back, they have 7 pools, great beach and there are things to do at the beach. if ocean motion sports is still there you will see a huge list of things they offer, from paddle board riding, banana boat rides to parasailing, plus good food good shopping and really good drinks :)
