skarletohara Posted August 2, 2005 #1 Share Posted August 2, 2005 We're trying to plan a cruise around Feb. or March '06 and would like to avoid all the traditional Ft. Lauderdale spring-breakers... I know the breaks can run anywhere between mid=Feb and April, and I know Easter is 4/16/06, but for the college break on the east coast is what I'm interested in... cruisinkitten Posted August 2, 2005 #2 Share Posted August 2, 2005 Not sure of all schools but my college in st louis has spring break march 19th to the 26th. My sister in high school in fl has her spring break during the same week. We are going to plan a spring break trip since our breaks are during the same week. ;)
gfromftlaud Posted August 2, 2005 #3 Share Posted August 2, 2005 Ranges from end of Feb through Easter. I live on Ft. Laud Beach and witness this every year. It is nothing compared to what used to go on during the 80's...no "Animal House" type debauchery anymore. Is it an extremely busy time in Ft. Laud? Yes, but many of the tourists are families, not just college students running wild. Many foreign visitors this time of year also. Unfortunately every year is different, with some weeks crazier than others. No good way to forecast which week will be the busiest though. Skarletohara, what are your concerns? Maybe I can answer something more specific or be of further information. Best Regards, Gary
Mandee Posted August 2, 2005 #4 Share Posted August 2, 2005 I would try for early February...I go to U of M and our spring break was the end of February last year. I know many other schools who had it at the same time and then on into all of March.
roohound Posted August 2, 2005 #5 Share Posted August 2, 2005 even at the Universitites in FL our Spring Breaks don't run the same. I relaly don't think FLL is the Spring Break hotbed it once was...now the Panhandle of FL seems to attract the most of our kids
