KPLIONMA Posted May 16, 2014 #26 Share Posted May 16, 2014 We will be sailing on the "old girl" at the end of September to the Canary Islands. I haven't been on her since 2003 when we went to the Southern Caribbean out of San Juan. So looking forward to seeing all her changes. This will be my 6th Royal Caribbean cruise. We've also been on Enchantment, Voyager in Europe, Mariner in Mexico, and Allure.
racerxspeedy Posted May 17, 2014 #27 Share Posted May 17, 2014 Due to the lack of drink options out by the pool we always bring our own travel cups and fill them in our room with lemonade. We always remind the steward to refill the ice bucket as much as possible. Bottom Line - The RC drink system is broken. RCC needs a system like Carnivals . Carnival has Ice, drinks and ice cream at numerous locations throughout the ship. RC is using the "contamination" excuse. I'm not hearing about Noro on Carnival..... so that's no excuse. At least the Oasis Class has the Wipeout Café and Park Café. Voyager Class needs this!!!

We've sailed Carnival last four years and used to what they offer ..you can always get iced tea and lemonade (and ice) 24/7 from the self serve dispensers in buffet area (which is never closed) and fill up our drink tumblers from home. It's so convenient (and a money saver). We didn't know if Royal had anything like this. We don't drink alcohol and I do not drink too much soda. We solved the issue.. we will just fill up water from the tap or at cafe promenade and bring iced tea or lemonade packets from home to fill up our drink tumblers. we can get ice from room service as well..to fill up the ice bucket., as you mentioned Edited May 18, 2014 by abisha
mikechass Posted May 27, 2014 #32 Share Posted May 27, 2014 Thanks so much Clarea for the note about pizza in the CP I told my son we could have a standing room service order of cheese pizza and then take it out to the promenade if worst comes to worst... But he will be thrilled to know he can have that PLUS stuff in the Cafe after a long day of doing nothing.. ha Also, Ranger cookies are reason enough to love this ship. I agree Frito58!!! Thanks guys. Chass

I'm also a non-drinker. I am going to buy the Royal Replenish package for $20 per day - I think it's a great deal as it includes: Premium coffee Premium tea Bottled water Sparkling water (375ml) Still water (500ml) Fresh squeezed orange juice Non-alcoholic cocktails Fountain soda with souvenir Coca-Cola cup That's totally worth $20 per day to me. I realize it doesn't for everyone but I like to pre-pay as much as possible.

Photofinish4 Posted May 29, 2014 #35 Share Posted May 29, 2014 Well, I just stepped off the lovely Carnival Breeze :( this past Saturday which was absolutely wonderful in every way, and now I have the "cruise blues" again. A couple of months ago, I booked AOS for next May of 2015 for the Aruba route and have once again something great to look forward to and to help alleviate the "cruise blues" symptoms. :) I'd like to hear from anyone who has sailed on AOS and what you thought, what you liked/disliked and what you'd like to recommend. DH and I are early 50's. DH is disabled and uses a mobility scooter on the ship. We are booked in an accessible room overlooking promenade. Also, how does your time dining work and what are some other good dining options I should check out. Are there options that are without the extra fee? Would like to hear as much about this ship as possible and be pointed to some great pictures as well. I look forward to returning to Royal (enjoyed my cruise on the Radiance back in 2005). Thanks! We just returned from 33 days on aos. We loved it. You can get your drinks ( coffee, tea, water ,lemonade ) anytime in the café promenade along with pizza, sandwiches, cookies, brownies and after 11 am a real good granola bar that I loved. When filling up your personal drink containers please use there glasses to fill up your container. You can find the daily menus on the touch screen digital finders that are through out the ship. There was no smoking in the concierge club and I wish they would discontinue it in the casino. The ship is beautiful and there are many things to do. Had good entertainment, but did not think the rccl singers were that good. We really liked Rob Mc Nally as our cruise director on the last 19 days of our cruise.
