H2O skier Posted May 15, 2014 #4 Share Posted May 15, 2014 Did it once. Was the worst job I ever had. Believe it cost me around $50 w/tip.

If your daughter does them, she can probably give you the liquid, powder, brush and emery tools you need to do a fill yourself.

I don't mean to sound snarky but doing nails IS an art and not an undertaking for the inexperienced! If it was me, I'd have her do them in a very neutral color and fill as close to edges as possible and short length. Then if OP doesn't want to get spa fill, they should hold up for the duration of her trip. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app

lozzer58 Posted May 18, 2014 Author #8 Share Posted May 18, 2014 Thanks for all your replies. I may go down the shellac route for this trip there is nothing worse than a bad infill. Thanks ladies
Pia1913 Posted May 18, 2014 #9 Share Posted May 18, 2014 Fills on all Princess ships are $45; I do them often. Some techs are better than others. Used to be you tipped them afterwards, but now they add 15%, so you know you'll be paying $51.75 total.
timetravler Posted May 18, 2014 #10 Share Posted May 18, 2014 BTW, they do not do Gel nails, only acrylic. I sure wish they would though.
ggprincess2004 Posted May 18, 2014 #11 Share Posted May 18, 2014 Overtime I have become allergic to something that is used in the acrylic nail process, and also don't tolerate the gel nails, or something that is used with silk wraps. So now I am back to natural nails. But, I used to do my own fills when I traveled. My nail tech knew I was very fussy about who touched my nails - only her - and she taught me enough to keep me in good shape when we were away for longer than two weeks. Then when my only alternative became natural nails, she helped me with nail care products while my nails were recovering from all the artificial stuff. Great person - and very understanding.
