Freeport Brewery excursion

I am going on Carnival to Freeport this fall. There is a carnival excursion to a Brewery which I am interested in but I am NOT interested in the perfume factory or a stop at a mall.

 

Can I easily get to the brewery on my own? How? How far? Is there a cost to tour the brewery?

 

I really just want to sample some local brew.

Wondering if you can get a cab at the pier and just do the brewery and how much the cab will be.....

I emailed the brewery, the tour is $7 per person if you book ahead. M-F 10-4

How do you get there? Private taxi......cost?

Since we are only in Freeport until 1pm, and tours don't start until 10, we decided to look for something else to do. I imagine you could take a taxi, no idea of cost, . but it has to be less than Carnival excursion!
