Southampton Embarkation Time

Personally I prefer to board a bit later! There are some nice places ashore to have a bite to eat before you board, without the rugby scrum in the Self service restaurant on board. CPS (if you use them) are waiting for you, there are no queues in the terminal, my cabin is always ready and it is a far more relaxing start to my holiday. OK it might cost me a tenner for lunch whereas it is free on board, but if I am spending upwards of a grand for my cruise, what's another tenner....?

I'm with you. As newbies, we were in a hurry to board, but now we take our time. Less hassle and stress. No queuing; no waiting; no anxieties; cabin ready; luggage arrived. First thing - pour the wine, 'salut'. Sit on balcony; lap up the view and watch the world go by. And, relax......... Fantastic!!

We feel pretty much the same way. We much prefer Mayflower terminal and it is the right side of town for us and almost just off the motorway so you don't have to work your way through the traffic. As daft as it sounds Mayflower terminal also has sentimental attachments for us. Can't say that we are very impressed with Ocean terminal.

Because I use a scooter I find Ocean a much better terminal. In Mayflower they have one small lift and so there is always a queue. In Ocean the lift will take about 6/7 chairs. Much better. And of course you have that long ramp on embarkation.

We are boarding from Ocean terminal on Sunday so will see if its improved any since last year.

Don't really care where we go from just happy to be going on a cruise.

One more sleep at home, one in a hotel then board the fabulous Azura.
