Weather in Central America (Belize and Honduras)

I'm a first time cruiser and really excited. I am travelling to Belize and Roatan next week and have been avidly watching the weather.com and accuweather.com. As of know they are predicting rain however, I have been to the carribbean several times and usually its that 30minute rain that comes and goes. Is it like that in this area, too? This also impacts how I schedule my tours, too. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

we were in both last week. no rain in belize. it was hot and very humid though. Roatan was hot and humid but it had a breeze which helped. beautiful island. It rained on us three times but all very short-less than 10 minutes. some of the people in our party were on other parts of the island and had no rain. Depending on what you are doing in Belize, bring mosquito repellant.

I was visiting Roatan the same time as konthego (July 27th), and I asked one of the locals (the owner of the iguana farm) about the weather. She called the storms "July squalls," and she said that they were later this year than usual.
