cruznlobo Posted August 3, 2005 #1 Share Posted August 3, 2005 We are getting a bit anxious and frustrated. Priceline won't accept anything for 2.5*+ for up to $60. We need 3 rooms, 1/26/06 thru 1/29/06 & 3 rooms, 2/4/06 thru 2/7/06. Willing to stay anywhere in Ft. Lauderdale from Pompano Beach to Hollywood, including airport. Would prefer Downtown, Beach, Pompano, Hollywood. Will accept North or Airport. Can anyone help with a decent Hotel for an inexpensive price? Unless something special is going on those dates in FLL, I would be patient and keep low bidding on priceline. It would also help to know your budget for a non priceline room that you could cancel in the event you get a winning bid. There are several threads on the first page of this forum dealing with the same question, you might want to check those out. Good Luck
cruznlobo Posted August 3, 2005 Author #3 Share Posted August 3, 2005 Some of the people we are traveling with seem to think we can get rooms for about $60. If you know of ANYTHING, please let me know. In the meantime, we will keep bidding thru priceline. Thanx
TrentS Posted August 3, 2005 #4 Share Posted August 3, 2005 Here's the list of nice Fort Lauderdale hotels (in safe locations) I posted to another thread. Of course some are nicer (and far more expensive) than others. Keep in mind that your dates are for high season, and with the King Tut exhibit being in Fort Lauderdale from October 15 to April 23, plus the simple fact that more people are traveling than ever before, both prices and occupancy are up considerably over past years. You may want to keep trying Priceline, but book something now that you can cancel without penalty if you're successful. Your bid amount would most likely be successful now, in the summer, but even for 2.5-star I think you may very well have to up that for winter. The prices are just simply going up, and this is going to be a very busy winter in Fort Lauderdale. SE 17th Street (closest to Port Everglades and FLL)... coiran Posted August 3, 2005 #5 Share Posted August 3, 2005 I tried up to $60 for Amerisuites - finally went with Hyatt Pier 66 for $95 - several discount sites are offering Amerisuites for $79 - try hotelkingdom.com or valuetrips or discounthotels or lodging.com. petlover Posted August 3, 2005 #6 Share Posted August 3, 2005 Trent, this is such a helpful list!! You really should work for the Chamber of Commerce! They need your expertise!!! If you (or others) are familiar with these hotels, it might be helpful to be able to put an astric or something next to the ones that have balconies or views to be able to help people zero in quickly since often times, it's not just location. It may be harder to mention things like breakfast included, shuttle service etc. since these are all so subject to change. Just a thought..... cruznlobo Posted August 6, 2005 Author #7 Share Posted August 6, 2005 Thanx for the info TrentS. Looked everything over real careful. Got on the web at work this morn and started checking more hotels. Found the Monte Carlo Resort Motel for $88/Standard room and $105/Efficiency through hotelscheap.com. Because everything we've been checking is telling us that there are no rooms available for our dates, we went ahead and booked this when I got home. It looks like a nice place and a good location, but we would appreciate any info anyone has about this place. TIA.
