Badfinger Posted May 29, 2014 #1 Share Posted May 29, 2014 Really debating between two itineraries as follows: Sea Day / Cozumel / Grand Cayman / Jamaica / Sea Day / Sea Day or... Sea Day / Cozumel / Belize / Mahogany Bay / Sea Day / Sea Day We have been to Cozumel but not any of the other. I seem to recall Jamaica has more than it's share of neutral or negative reviews. And not really interested in a 6-hour excursion to Dunn Falls. Only required is snorkeling one day, and I think we can cover that at Cozumel. Thoughts and opinions welcomed! Clarea Posted May 29, 2014 #3 Share Posted May 29, 2014 If Mahogony Bay is the one on Roatan, then I'd choose that one. We had an outstanding snorkeling excursion in Roatan once.
DonnaK Posted May 29, 2014 #4 Share Posted May 29, 2014 I'd pick the second itinerary because it has 2 ports that aren't often seen on typical Western Carib cruises, so I'd take advantage of this opportunity to visit them. (You will surely get to Grand Cayman and Jamaica on future cruises)
Badgertr Posted May 29, 2014 #5 Share Posted May 29, 2014 Your first one is the more common itinerary, so I would vote for #2. The only thing you would miss on Grand Cayman would be if you wanted to swim with the stingrays. Otherwise it would be a beach and shop day. Belize has great diving so I would assume snorkeling would be very good as Cozumel is. Jamaica is what you are assuming. If you go on other cruises your first choice would be very easy to do another time.
Darkwolfe Posted May 29, 2014 #6 Share Posted May 29, 2014 Just keep in mind that you will be docked at Coxen Hole in Roatan, not Mahogony Bay. Should be easy enough to get where you want to be though.
KBD1516 Posted May 29, 2014 #7 Share Posted May 29, 2014 #2. But I would add that we love to snorkel in grand cayman. You just walk 3 blocks to the right around the curve of the shoreline to the snorkel ship/ restaurant area. There's a small, real small, beach there by the restaurant . Snorkeling is very good there and doesn't cost us anything but a locker because we bring our own gear.
cruisingsince94 Posted May 29, 2014 #8 Share Posted May 29, 2014 Guess I'm with the others here. We love Grand Cayman but there is always the chance of weather not allowing you to tender over so I vote for #2 as well.
OCruisers Posted May 29, 2014 #9 Share Posted May 29, 2014 We'd pick #2 because we like going to Roatan and Belize. :D LuLu
dz9yvr Posted May 29, 2014 #10 Share Posted May 29, 2014 Here's another vote for #2, a much better choice in ports.

debshomespun Posted May 29, 2014 #12 Share Posted May 29, 2014 Another vote for Belize and Roatan! They are not on alot of the itineraries, You will be able to get to Jamaica and Grand Cayman on most of the Western routes. Belize and Roatan are much more exotic ports IMHO! OCruisers Posted May 30, 2014 #14 Share Posted May 30, 2014 If Mahogony Bay is the one on Roatan, then I'd choose that one. We had an outstanding snorkeling excursion in Roatan once. Yes, Mahogany Bay is in Roatan.
nessz79 Posted May 30, 2014 #15 Share Posted May 30, 2014 Love Roatan/Mahogany Bay. Get a tour with Bodden tours- very reasonable prices and they will take you to some great locations. Check them out on Tripadvisor.
