Has anyone had Josh before? I was looking forward to seeing Wee Jimmie again.

We've sailed with Josh twice. The first time he was subbing for a CD who had a family emergency; he was okay, but being new to the job he overdid it with the announcements. The second time he was great - very personable. It was a July 4 cruise and we saw him in the lobby hanging decorations for the deck party later that night. (It was a Canada cruise - no party on the Lido deck:p). I'd happily sail with Josh again.

Is Jen Baxter as awful as most people say? I don't really have anything to compare her to, Cory Rogers was my only CD so far and he was just okay.

Totally agree. I told DH that Jen was going to be our CD for our June cruise and he was really excited. We happen to adore Jen. :D

Matt Mitchum is one of our favorites. He is from England, very very funny. We have been on two cruises with him and just love him!!

I have never noticed what a cruise director does on a ship. Four cruises and, aside from the announcements over the PA, what do they do that everyone gets excited about? Maybe events we don't participate in.

When we were on the Triumph last August, Jen also hosted the Welcome Aboard show and had a small part in one of the stage shows (Big Easy? I think that was the name of it). Every time we turned around, you could hear her coming down the hallway and she was always talking to somebody, checking on something..she had her glittery little fingers in every little pie it seemed like.

Matt is awesome! Oh, and he's VERY easy on the eyes, ladies!!! Had him on Glory twice last year. Eversen was his Assistant CD and they were hilarious together. I was so happy to have Eversen a couple weeks ago on Glory. He is so funny and I love his singing! I hate mornings, but it brought a smile to my face every time.

Jaime is a wonderful cruise director. I've never booked a cruise because of a CD or avoided a cruise because of a CD, but a good CD makes a cruise better.:cool:

Just found out that Brad Calabrese (my favorite CD) is being promoted to Carnival's Director of Entertainment, a promotion to corporate, and will no longer be a Director. He'll be on the Legend until mid-July then he'll end that gig. Best of luck to him.

 

I noticed that Adam Cornes who was our Assistant Cruise Director on Legend last week will be serving as Cruise Director on the Fantasy in September. Adam is great and those cruising in September will love him. He's a young guy, but very, very engaging and entertaining.
