CS-RN Posted June 10, 2014 #1 Share Posted June 10, 2014 I know this may be posted somewhere, but having a hard time finding the answer to this question: One you pay the entrance fee to Dr.'s Cave, can you leave and re-enter? Do they give you a wrist band or anything? We are in a larger family group...just wondering if come of us want to take a break from the beach and walk around the Hip Strip for a bit if we would be able to come back in. Also, we are looking at the shuttle bus service, see different company recommendations in different threads. Are they pretty reliable about return time? Has anyone had problems? Do they pick you up right outside the beach? Thanks
Gmanstyle Posted June 14, 2014 #2 Share Posted June 14, 2014 Just visited Doctor's Cave last week (6/1-8/2014). Cost was $6 pp for entry. They did not give out wrist bands but I would guess that re-entry could be arranged with the person collecting the entry fees. We took the shuttle bus service (JUTA) from the port. Cost was $10 pp each way ($20 pp R/T). They will drop off and pick up right outside the beach entrance. Our driver was supposed to pick us up at 4:00 but did not arrive until 4:20. We still had adequate time to get back to the ship but it gave our group a little scare wondering if we had been ditched. Make sure you get a business card from the driver with his name and contact information as a back up. Our situation was probably an isolated event attributed to our driver. It all worked out fine in the end but just take the precaution of getting the driver's and company contact information.
Prisc777 Posted July 1, 2014 #3 Share Posted July 1, 2014 This was one of the beaches we were recommended by the local taxi driver when docking in M Bay...it was a great beach experience, however a bit crowded on that day...
BelRik Posted July 13, 2014 #4 Share Posted July 13, 2014 We did the Catamaran Sail, Snorkel & Beach Break @ Doctor's Cave excursion with Shore Excursioneer company earlier this year. I agree, this is one of the best beaches we could see in the bay...to get to other beaches you need to drive south for quite a bit, so that option seems perfect for Montego Bay
