Least crowded beach near Lahania

What beach is near the port that is the least crowded, and still is real nice with great snorkeling.

Near as in 'driving distance' or 'walking distance'?

 

Kahekili Beach Park is a great snorkelling and swimming spot and easy to find parking there ... there are restroom facilities, and trees for shade. It's along a long stretch of beautiful beach, just north of the very busy Kaanapali beach.

 

A bit further north is Kapalua Bay - also good for swimming and snorkelling. There's a free parking lot there as well (it's not a very big lot, so it gets filled up at prime time), and restroom facilities there as well.

 

Here's a link to a site with good info & photos on Maui beaches. Disregard the part where it says that there is no snorkelling at Kahekili ... it's a typo.

Driving distance. but we do need to drop off the car probably by 2-3pm to get back to the ship as it leaves at 5pm

Kahekili Beach Park is good, especially for beginners. It's now very close to the Westin Timeshare complex immediately to its north.
