pbnjrockette Posted June 15, 2014 #1 Share Posted June 15, 2014 Has anyone recently docked at Honfleur? I read in another report that their Riverboat was unable to dock at Honfleur and instead docked at a more industrial area due to a "French Maritime regulation"
frenchrci Posted June 26, 2014 #2 Share Posted June 26, 2014 Hi, I have no idea where you can dock in Honfleur.... Maybe Le Havre ? Port of Honfleur is very small... And more for little personal boats. Which company it is ?
LondonTowner Posted June 27, 2014 #3 Share Posted June 27, 2014 Are you talking about a river boat cruise? If so, they dock almost in the centre of the town. Certainly within a short walk to everything. If you mean a cruise ship, then they will dock in Le Havre
whatnot Posted July 2, 2014 #4 Share Posted July 2, 2014 We were in Honfleur a few weeks ago on our own. There were several normal size River Cruise boats docked, not in the inner harbor where all the small boats, are but on the river's edge. It still was very close to the center of town. Honfleur is lovely. Great history, nice shops, beautiful views, interesting architecture, and great seafood restaurants. If you like mussels, this is the place to eat them. One restaurant had them prepared a dozen different ways and they are very reasonably priced because they are very local. You will love the city! Have a great trip! Hi....We'll be arriving next month...is there a centralized area we should tell the taxi driver to stop and pick us up at? Any suggestions on what to see during a four hour stop? We're docking at Le Havre and sharing a taxi with another couple/
LondonTowner Posted July 10, 2014 #6 Share Posted July 10, 2014 Honfleur is a pretty French town with a lovely harbour area and old town to wander in. There are a number of museums there, so if you do a Google search you will find what is available. You can then choose what is interesting to you. I've emailed 3 taxi companies and none have responded.
LondonTowner Posted July 12, 2014 #9 Share Posted July 12, 2014 Sorry, but we take our own car to France, so don't need to use taxis. Do a search on here as there are lots of reviews about taxis and Le Havre, or you could look on Tripadvisor.
frenchrci Posted July 14, 2014 #10 Share Posted July 14, 2014 (edited) There is a lot of taxis which don't take credit cards, but they can drive you in front of an atm. :) Edited July 14, 2014 by frenchrci
Britboys Posted July 24, 2014 #11 Share Posted July 24, 2014 ... If you mean a cruise ship, then they will dock in Le Havre Depends on the size of your cruise ship. Small is sometimes beautiful and I am on a cruise next month that docks in Honfleur. The cruise ship is only 10,000 tons and takes about 450 pax. We also dock in the middle of Bordeaux. Honfleur can take ships up to approx 25,000 tons I believe.
