Hi All,

I'm looking into plantation tours to Oak Alley and Laura. Can anyone tell me if the drive there would most likely be highway/main roads or side streets with lots of swerves and turns? We will be going on a group tour not driving ourselves. Thanks for the help!

We've been to the majority of plantation homes outside NOLA - Laura and Oak Alley are nice but do not forget Destrehan Plantation. Average cost per home is $20pp so be prepared as it will add up quickly. Here is a good reference: http://www.neworleansplantationcountry.com/ as for driving the roads are easy to travel either just off the highway or a short drive on the river road.

We would like to see both Oak Alley and Laura , but will not have a car. Staying in the French quarter. Looking at a couple of options with tours by Isabelle and Big Easy tours. Any preferences or other ideas? Are there any discounts out there for these tours? Looks like the going rate is $100 per person, and we are a group of 5 (gulp)!
