Lost out on Carnival gift card promotion!

The promotion started on the 4th I believe. Not sure why some wait until the last second to take advantage of promotions. You snooze you loose.

It's not always so black and white. Many people (myself included) get paid every other week on Fridays. Put the money in the bank on Saturday, but it's not available to be spent until the bank opens back up on Monday. So, to pretend like you know everyone's situation and to make judgments based on that is pretty arrogant.

Didn't find out about it until Sunday the 16th. Did most of you get an email? We didn't, although we've cruised 13 times with Carnival. We found out about it last minute from Cruise Critic - my mistake is in not logging on to CC for awhile!

I am not grouping everyone read my post (some people) I get paid every two weeks too but I personally know some people who knew about this for the 12 days it was offered and put it off until it was too late.

I've cruised with Carnival multiple times and never got an email. I found out about the promotion here. That being said, I purchased two gift cards yesterday, and still have not gotten the promo cards.

I too will be calling them if I don't get them, and if that doesn't work, I'll be sure to let them know they just got two credit card charge backs. Funny thing about charge backs, one time I called and asked my credit card company about them and cruise lines. The credit card company rep said they very often do charge backs with cruise lines because of the shady tactics that are used by "used car salesman" types who work for the cruise lines.

I'm a regular cruiser on Carnival, get their e-newsletter and am a VIFP member but I never heard of it. Why wasn't I given the offer? How do you get on their list.

Any suggestions?

Go to Manage VIFP Club, then your profile, then under Contact Settings. Make sure email and mail is checked for news and offers.

Ok, Here is my story.

Did not get an email from Carnival or under my offers (and I check daily). Heard about the offer here on Cruise critic. It was Saturday or Sunday (June 7 or 8).

Was leaving on the Miracle in 2 days and was already planning another cruise in Dec.

So, while on ship (Miracle, June 11th) went to the gift shop and bought 10 - $200 gift cards. Went to Todd at the future cruise desk. Made the down payment on 2 cabins for the Dec 6th sailing on the Breeze.

I asked Todd, the gift shop girl, and guest services about the promotion and NO ONE KNEW WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT.

Now, I saved my receipts and hope for the best. I know that things on the ship don't get back to the head office to quickly, but my bookings have already shown up.

How long do you think I should wait for the promotional cards?

It was only good through the website. You should have done e-cards and you would have got them immediately. I'm willing to bet you are out of luck - and $200. Sorry.

I just posted this on the other thread I've been following as well, but I'm excited that I just got this email from Carnival. It appears we may have to wait 10 days even for the bonus e-cards.

Dear Princessliz,

Thank you for contacting Carnival Cruise Lines. We received your e-mail message and appreciate the opportunity to be of assistance.

The promotion did indeed run through 11:59p.m. on June 16th and the promotional card will be issued separately from the purchased gift cards, within 10 days.

Thank you again for allowing us to be of assistance. If there is anything else we can do for you, please don't hesitate to ask.

Sincerely,

Shelly Young

Yay! My $100 promo card just arrived in my email! Just to confirm, I purchased the $1000 ecard on Monday. Then made a couple of phone calls after I realized the promo had ended, but that got me NO WHERE! Then I sent the email. So, today I finally got the response to my email and a few minutes later the email with the promo card. I'm confident Carnival will rectify for everyone... just taking some time!
