Bongo Posted August 5, 2005 #1 Share Posted August 5, 2005 Hi, We'll be visiting St. Thomas in October on the AOS and I was wondering if anyone had any experiences with any Real Estate agents on the island? We are considering buying some property/land and would like to use this opportunity for some fact finding. Any recommendations or anybody done this before? Thanks! awatt Posted August 6, 2005 #2 Share Posted August 6, 2005 We used Jayanne Stout , Coldwell Banker I believe. Her advice was right on in that she steered us exactly the right property for us.

CaribbeanBlue Posted August 7, 2005 #4 Share Posted August 7, 2005 Quite honestly if you are serious about shopping for real estate in the USVI or any of the other islands come down for a week or so and look. MANY of the Realtors are leery of taking cruise ship passengers around looking at properties because they feel they are being utilized for a free tour of the island and looking at homes people have no intention of purchasing. Most of the homes require a firm reservation to view and getting around the island can take a LOT of time. Write to a realtor ahead of time, tell them what you are interested in, have all of your pre-qualifications in place, and set up appointments to go and see properties. Realistic price ranges for houses and condos St Thomas $500,000 and up (cheaper houses available in un-desirable areas) St Croix --- $50,000 and up (under priced at this time due to high unemployment and percieved high crime rate) St John---- $1,000,000 and up (cheaper available but no view, small and they go fast usually by word of mouth) Water Island-- $300,000 and up Great value, great location, wonderful community.
