KizuriSeascape Posted June 17, 2014 #1 Share Posted June 17, 2014 We had planned on Crystal for a world cruise, but were very disappointed by the 2017 itinerary, and so will likely switch to Cunard. We like the look of Queen Mary’s past itineraries, so hopefully she’ll follow a somewhat similar path in 2017. We plan on traveling in the Queens Grill. Does the menu tend to be varied, or become monotonous after so long? Is there an additional charge for the items in the mini bar? Are these replenished throughout the voyage? We’re not big alcohol drinkers; though enjoy bottled water, herbal teas and fruit juices. Also, if anyone has any pearls of wisdom, or things we should know about a Cunard world cruise, we’d love to hear!
theldaken Posted June 17, 2014 #2 Share Posted June 17, 2014 We spent 23 wonderful days, earlier this year on the QM2,in QG. The menu changed daily, with few repeats, however there is an A La Carte menu as well that does not change, think filet, lobster, duck etc. Also if they have it and you request it in QG they will cook it for you. The cabins were well stocked with soft drinks, you chose, beer, mixers, wine and/or spirits, replenished daily, also fresh fruit.Canapes at 5.30 pm,very civilized.Afternoon tea at 3.30,dinner from 6.30. Dine in your stateroom, just ask your butler. Enjoy
