dreamer320 Posted June 17, 2014 #1 Share Posted June 17, 2014 We're looking at the HAL Norse Legends from Rotterdam to various places in Norway. My dh gets quite motion sick, and had to use the patch plus seabands on our last cruise. How rough is the passage likely to be in the North Sea compared to the western Caribbean? I know there are variables, but I'd like to stay in an aft verandah on the upcoming cruise if it's likely to be comparable.
dsrdsrdsr Posted June 17, 2014 #2 Share Posted June 17, 2014 It's entirely comparable. It's rough in storms. Frequency, timing, and severity of storms is much more variable. The advantage of Rotterdam to Norway is that you're only in the North Sea for 1 day each way. After that, you're into the fjords or sheltered behind islands for much of the time. In the Caribbean, you're vulnerable to winds all the time.
moviefan2010 Posted June 18, 2014 #3 Share Posted June 18, 2014 I am a bit prone to sea sickness and last July I found 21 days in the North Sea the easiest cruise I ever took. Never took any sea sick stuff out of my bag. Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app
