I was not offended at all and was glad to see you joining in and that you also had a good cruise. I think the main objective of these boards is just to have fun and share info and ideas. I may have started the thread but don't claim it. I am interested in your cruise, ideas, and opinions also.

I am so glad you were not offended, I just did not want to be rude. :)

Celebrity_Fan, The ship has some areas that do need updating. Some of the floors are a little buckeled. The beds were pretty good. The public areas were very clean. We enjoyed the ports.

The crew/staff were some of the best we have sailed with. Lionel, the CC Host was very nice. If anyone has the pleasure of being in Michael's Club with Maritza, they are in for quite a treat. :)

Thank you for the offer MsB1254. We are going on tour 6b in August and would love to see your album. My email is beck0824@yahoo.com. I read that you arrived to the ship about 5pm. Do you recall if the Seward Sealife Center was close by within walking distance? Since we too are on a tour and will probably get in later in the day I wonder if there is time to go there before the ship departs.

So, when reading between the lines, oyu had a veryg great time onboard! I just would like to nknow how you liked the food? :)

Since I rally love the M-class-ships (based on my experiences on Summit), I am sure we will like Millennium as well.

We enjoyed Olympic and Qsine the best, but the main dining room was very good also.

We were very pleased with the food. :)

We did the 6 night Celebrity pre cruise tour and then the southbound 7 night Millenium cruise leaving May 30th and finished with two nights in Vancouver. Each trip I do a Shutterfly photo books with everything we did and photos of what we saw. This year it ended up being two books - one for the land tour and one for the cruise and Vancouver. If anyone is planning this trip, I would be glad to share one or both books if you send me your e-mail address. The books took so much of my time - I have not done a review yet but both portions of the trip were fantastic in my opinion.

We will be on the Millie in Aufust for a similar cruise tour northbound. Do you know if there was entertainment and what kind in the Cova Cafe after dinner?

I hope someone else see's this question and has the answer because I'm sorry I don't even know where the Cova Cafe is. We usually spent some time in the casino after dinner and then back to our cabin since we usually were up early for the ports.

I'd be thrilled for see your photo books. Ellynsmitrh@gmail.com

I'll be sailing northbound on Millie first week of August. I haven't booked it yet, but I'd lie to do the five glacier flight to Taku Lodge. Did you do the ship's excursion or book direct? How wonderful was it?

After the cruise, a friend and I are renting a car to go to Talkeetna, Denali, Fairbanks, and round back to Anchorage. We're looking forward to a great time.

I hope you enjoyed your land portion. My sister is in her second summer working as a tour director for the land tours like yours.

The five glacier flight was my favorite excursion of the entire trip and we booked it directly through the cruise line. Talkeetna was a very cute little town and I enjoyed spending the day there also. I hope you enjoy the books.

Any tips/recommendations for Icy Strait Point, in terms of hiking or doing something active? :)

In advice: we do not plan to do things like Zip Line...

Thank you!

I know from a map that we had that there was a nature trail but honestly I don't know much about it. I saw several people walking into the village of Hoonah but it was really raining hard when we returned from the bear search excursion so we just got back on the ship. I would have at least liked to have looked around the shops and restaurants but I was out voted and it was pretty wet and cold and not very good weather for exploring. Sorry I can't be of more help and really I did not think the bear search was worth the money.

To the person who asked how far the SeaLife Center is from the ship. It is probably 2 miles or so. You would want to get a taxi. Look them up online and you can see what their hours are. The cute little puffins are a highlight in there.

If you are not arriving in Seward until 5:00 pm that is too late to go to the SeaLife center which is at the far other end of town from where the ship docks.

I would also like to see your photo books. I love going to Alaska and am hoping to go on the Millenium again next year for their one 10 day cruise in May.

My e-mail address is topoolwife@yahoo.com

Thank you so much for sending them. I have made several myself and I know that it takes a lot of time and planning and figuring out and rearranging many times. I look forward to getting them.

Thank you MsB1254 for senfding the albums. It was great to see the ship and ports in detail. Alaska looks cold- haha.

Also thank you poolwife for the info on the Sealife center. I am not sure what time we will arrive at the port. I know we spend the night before in Seward and there is a cruise to Resurrection bay in the morning as part of the cruisetour. If we get to the ship around noon or 1 we can possible make it to the Sealife center. I would love to see the puffins. If I remember correctly they are open until 9pm.

Sometimes I regret booking the cruise tour instead of doing it ourselves because of the whole being at the mercy of the schedule but it was a group decision and I know it will be a blast no matter what.

Even though I do prefer independent traveling and not by cruisetour myself, I love the motto that a day on a cruise is better than a day at work. Better to be on the cruise tour than not at all. Even though you are at the mercy of someone else's schedule (that is why I don't like the idea of cruise tours), you will have a great time.

I really liked the ship and thought for an older ship, the Millenium was in remarkably good condition.<snip> In Icy Strait Point we did the bear search which was okay as we saw a brown bear coming back to the road but did not actually think it was worth the time or money. However, we did not have a good weather day there. After the wet bear search, we went directly back to the ship as it had started to really pour down which is a shame as I would have liked to have at least walked around and explored the little port.

Hi Kathy... I remember when you & Wilson joined the Roll Call back in May of 2013! Did I miss you folks at the Connections Party? Overall, as you indicated, we also thought the cruise was very nice..... great food & service, especially in the main dining room & Captain's Club receptions... Captain's Club host, Lionel was great! I was also on the Bear Watch excursion in Icy Strait Point & (as you hinted) thought it was a complete waste of $$. The tour leader was a real jerk.... reprimanding those who stopped to take pic's saying he'd get in trouble if we were late getting back.... (that wasn't directed at me as I was leading the pack with him). Then we had to wait a LONG time at the various lookouts while groups ahead of us cleared the next lookout station.... so much for his uncalled for "pep talk". I braved the rain at the end of our tour to get pic's of some eagles I saw near the shore. Fortunately, I had an umbrella! I must say that the shopping arcade there was one of the best I encountered! Sorry you missed that. The one bear I saw on the bear watch was one carved by a chainsaw in a tree stump. I missed the brown bear you & Wilson saw.... where was that?

I would love to see your photo books! Thanks for the offer! My email address is OurMeetAndGreet @ gmail dot com.:)

Texed;43155388]We just returned from our Millennium Alaska cruise today. We agree that it was a very nice cruise.[/quote/]

Was there a changeover of officers, staff and crew on this sailing?

Thanks.

I do not believe so.

No, unfortunately we did miss the meet & greet. We must have been with a different group for the bear search. Our guide was female and I actually thought she was quite good. She did insist that the group remain together and would not let people stray away. I am sending you the books and you will see the page dedicated to the bear. I'm sorry I missed meeting you on this cruise.
