IWORK2CRUISE Posted June 18, 2014 #1 Share Posted June 18, 2014 Hi all, We will have one day in Kona in Sept. My husband remembers being there with his parents many years ago and seeing beautiful wild Poinsettia(A LOT) but can't recall where. I had suggested driving to Waimea but I'm not sure if that is the right direction. Any suggestions from those who know? Thanks!
Kartgv Posted June 18, 2014 #2 Share Posted June 18, 2014 (edited) I don't remember ever seeing any in Waimea, but there are huge plants in the Captain Cook area as you head upslope and also along the road that heads towards "The Painted Church". They are seasonal, with bloom time depending on length of daylight vs. dark, so they may not be blooming that early. We're often there in November/early December and they have been in bloom then.
