Free Carnival "elite" cruise

OK, so I'd sworn off Carnival because, with my 6-8 cruises a year and $1K-$2000 spent in the ship's casinos every cruise, Carnival wasn't comping me well. We'd defected to NCL. Anyway, a couple weeks ago I saw they had a "pack and play" offer so I was able to book an 8 day cruise on the Breeze in a balcony in Aug for 2 people....total $372 :eek:.

 

Today I receive an email for an "elite" cruise offer....choice of one of 3 8 day cruises.....comped balcony and extra VIP perks....ok, they've got me back LOL :D

I was booked on the Breeze for Sept.13 on a Premier Cruise offer-inside cabin. I also received the Elite offer today (didn't know there was such a thing!). So, now I'm booked in my first ever suite on the Sept. 6th Freedom sailing instead. The offer was waaay to good to pass up.

I called the # provided right away. The agent I spoke with was confused at first but finally got me booked on the Oct 4th Sunshine. He said that it would take a few days for the paperwork to be complete. After hanging up an email came through with my booking but showed full price. It also says that a deposit of $600 is due by June 24th. I also emailed the exec at player club and received a response back that welcomed me and said I would be receiving additional info in a few days. My question is, who did you book with and does your booking show the full price still. Very confusing.

I tried calling the number provided but that agent had no clue and couldn't find out anything about it so I emailed the exec at Carnival (email addy on the email). Martin responded that an agent would call me back within 24 hours to book it. They called today and I booked the Sept 6th Freedom for a grand total of $248 in port fees and taxes. You need to email them right away as the spots are filling fast! My booking shows what the total would have been ($2300) but my total paid was $248 and it still shows a balance due but I'm sure that will go away once it's in the system

I too am booked on this cruise, and had the same concerns as you. Today my booking disappeared and I was on the phone with them for a hour and 10 minutes. The balance will be taken off by next week. They said don't be concerned about the June 24th deadline. They said Elite is something new, so they have a few bugs to work out.

I was excited to get this offer, as it was on my bucket list to do a premier cruise but the offers we have received for premier cruises were too late to book flights from Canada. This appears to be something new and I have to say a pretty good offer. I have the same concerns as everyone else, but I am sure Carnival will get it all worked out. I am booked, taxes and tips paid. Just need to keep watching for some cheap flights from Canada, not sure that is possible. :)

We received this offer last year but were unable to make the dates listed so we're super excited we can make it this time around. It'll also be our first suite! Is it similar to the Premier cruises? What about the shore excursion? Does anyone know if this is for all ports?

I too have received this offer and yes I took it sailing the breeze 10-4-14. After all slots are filled an executive casino host will call. So far I found out that we can get our drinks all over the ship sort of like the cheers package except its free. I was told that they will have a car pick you up and take you to the port. That's all I know so far. With only 30 slots to fill spread across 3 ships means small groups of us. Looking forward to seeing what it is.

Do you mean the Sunshine for October 4, 2014? Who said the drinks are free all over the ship? I didn't get any information yet, other then what was listed in the promotion. But my understanding, this is the first time they had this offer.

Hi pammycakes, the promotion states pick up at Miami airport, but we will be flying into Orlando because the cruise is out of Port Canaveral. Where you told they would pick us up at the airport. This looks it is going to be a great cruise, with so man perks.

It says airport pickup right on the emailed invite "Complimentary parking, private car service pickup and drop-off at Miami International Airport". When I told them I was staying the night before in a Ft Lauderdale hotel (for the Freedom cruise) the woman I spoke to said they would pick us up at the hotel and someone would be in contact with us before the cruise to set up the details. Sounds like it will be a good cruise with awesome perks

I was on the phone with the Elite crew for a little over a hour yesterday and again today as there was a "little" problem with my booking.

 

It is my understanding there will be 30 slots on each of the ships. I'm booked on the Sunshine 10/4/14

 

Shore excursion for two is included, but only at one of the ports.

 

You can park at the port and they will refund your parking fee, or they will send a car to pick you up at hotel.

 

They also said the drink card is much like the one you earn in the casino after x amount of points, but the one we get can be used all over the ship, not just in the casino.

 

I was also told as soon as they get all the "slots" filled a casino executive will contact each and every person with the rest of the details.

 

Also the balance due will be adjusted within a week

That's weird, we got an email for one last year in April. But instead of being able to pick from three cruises like this year it was just for the Breeze. I remember contacting Martin to see if the offer could be extended to another ship but it was exclusive to the Breeze. I guess they tried it out and it went well. No matter, I'm just glad we can go this time. :D

BHX- I was told by the lady I spoke with that since I am driving that they would send a car to my hotel to pick me up. Now any of you who are on one of the earlier cruises tell us everything when you get back when the executive casino host calls any questions you have that is the time to ask.

wtg, so happy your are getting casino cash. I don't get it, but it's ok. I'm just happy for the invite. I do get balcony though. They offered me a spa balcony but since I'm a smoker I had to decline and just take a regular balcony. lol :)

Can I call and be added to the Elite cruise? I just got off the Glory on Saturday, dropped 10k, average bet was several hundred at BJ and many hours betting $500 per hand. I think I'm going to call Martin tomorrow and get him to contact the casino manager from the Glory to verify this. I got the free cruise letter again and the end of the cruise and offers for the Premier cruises (too many at the tables) but I feel I deserve to be on this cruise.

All you can do is ask. The offers went out in emails this past Wednesday and there was a 30 person limit. I would think by now that all slots would be full but there's always the chance you could luck out. This is a fantastic offer!!
