Dream - in room safe

We will be going on the Dream next month and were wondering if the in room safes on this ship use combinations or magnetic strips from credit card, gift card, etc.

Mine was magnetic. I always bring an empty gift card to use for the safe. Nice ship- have fun!!

The four cabins I have had on the Dream all had magnetic strips. I suspect they all are.

We had a 4-digit keypad as well. It's so strange that the Dream has

both magnetic & keypad. However good info for people to know so

they can go prepared and bring a card with them. I never knew the

ship had both.

thanks for the responses. While I knew that Carnival had both types of safes, I assumed that each ship only had one type. Of course, I know what they say about assuming, so I'll be prepared either way.

we just got off a B2B and premium OV and cove balcony on 2 both had 4-digit..Dennis

3 times on the Dream, all were 4-digit keypad. Deck 1 deluxe OV, deck 2 porthole, & deck 8 interior.

Just got off the Dream on Sunday and our room, 9259 had a 4-digit safe.

In April we were in cabin 6358 and our safe was the one with the 4-digit code.....those are so much better than the magnetic strip safes
