Does anyone know about cabins 8400 and 8404 on carnival conquest? They seen to be in a good location. They are D Category? I don't know what that means

We had 8402, across the hall, on our first cruise on the Conquest in 2005. Very convenient location to the Lido deck and buffet.

Did you hear a lot of noise from above? I know it's under the buffet. But I figure when it's time to go to sleep it will be closed anyways.

I remember some, but it wasn't bad. Of course, that was eight years ago! I think it was primarily early in the morning when they were getting things ready. Just take some ear plugs to be safe! But like I said, the main thing I remember about that location was how easy it was to get to the buffet. :)

Ha very true. In march I was on the liberty. I was in a ocean view under the kitchen. It was extremely noisy at night while they were cleaning I assume. We all wake up really early. So morning noise shouldn't be a problem.

The area above you is the dinning area of the buffet so there should be minimal noise. As far as the "D" category this is designation of cabin category in regard to location. For example 8A, 8B, 8C and 8D are all balcony staterooms and look exactly alike. The higher the letter the more "desirable" the location. Desirable as defined by Carnival. Give me an 8B on the Empress deck over an 8C on the Veranda any day.

That is good. I would of preferred to be on the 6th deck a little more midship. But I don't believe I have any say, since they picked the cabin. I know better next time I will choose mine own. We just though we would change it up and let them pick since the price was right.

Freedom 2014, you are going to have a great cruise. I understand wanting to be more mid ship but honesty I think you were really lucky with your assigned stateroom. Think about all the locations you could have been given such as deck 6 above the casino or show lounges. Even deck 8 more aft with all the chairs being drug around the deck.

I consider myself to be super picky about location and I would have been ok with your stateroom. ;)

Yes this will be our first balcony stateroom as well. We usually do ocean views
