Now, I dare say that those who haven’t read my other reviews, and maybe even some who have,;) might be thinking at this point that I am just a total fusspot and serial complainer, but believe me, I love good food and it doesn’t have to be sophisticated. Be assured that my first day’s experience was not at all typical and I had some really good food later in the cruise, as I hope you will discover in the days ahead...

Time then for a stroll on deck and to take in some fresh air... Still pleasantly warm outside but not really hot... July and August can be quite a different story in the Med…

Back indoors to check out the buzz around the ship.

The Casino was in full swing and all donations were no doubt gratefully received.:) Gamblers are so kind helping keep the cost of cruising down; and I do my bit, along with everyone else on the UBP…:D

Then a quick look into Howl at the Moon in Headliners...

Duelling pianos by request... would probably have spent some more time popping in there, had the Beatles Celebration band not been performing in Fat Cats five nights out of seven.

Then a final look into Bliss the nightclub. Either I was too early or too late as it wasn’t busy.

Still I was getting to grips with the layout of this huge ship. An early night for me too after a 4.30am rise...

That’s day one done and dusted and I don’t know about you, but I found it a marathon. I will be making personal replies to many of the comments but I thought it best to finish this first.

Next time: Day 2, our only full sea day: Breakfast in Taste; a morning in the Spa; five minutes in the gym to take photos and escape, before being ridden with guilt over my lack of fitness; an afternoon of photo taking outdoors around the ship; in the evening, the Blue Man Group in the Epic Theatre; then dinner at Le Bistro and finishing off with The Beatles Celebration. Thanks to all those following… and if you are, and haven’t yet done so, please do let me know… Much appreciated.

Quick suggestion to anyone using Quote button.

EDIT YOUR QUOTES!!!!

If you do not, you may be quoting a post with gazillion photos, only just to say "Thanks" or something. This will create cluttered, confusing, unpleasant thread.

Meant this for everyone with a lot of respect as well :o

But yeah, photo threads look a bit chaotic when people quote multi-pic posts. And it was not directed at you personally, but to a number of people who do it. A lot of times unknowingly.

Following. Looking forward to seeing all your photos of the Epic. We sail on her in October. This will be our first cruise with NCL.

Thanks for following. Lots to like on NCL but best not to expect everything to be as good as others, because that can lead to disappointment.

Enjoying your review already, and I'm not even traveling in a studio! Sailing on the Epic in just over a week! So consider me "following!"

Might be about half way finished by then. Thanks, and have a great time. I am sure you will.

Apologies for my quote that included the whole post-unfortunately on my Ipad the quote part only came up with the last sentence so I thought it was already edited. Now I'm on my PC I can see it's copied the whole post.

Following! Sailing on July 15th. Would love to read your comments on the Cirque Dreams and dinner show. Still on the fence about booking.

For me it would have been a difficult call if paying the $40, as the food was not special. The show was fantastic though. I was lucky, I didn't have to make the decsion as it came with the UDP. What a bargain!
