Looking for a reasonable hotel near the cruise port (Holland America). Do any of the hotels offer a shuttle to the cruise port? Or are there any public shuttles?

 

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

We used hotwire.com and got The Crystal. Comparatively speaking the rate, though still expensive, was lower than other websites.

Booking a Montreal hotel because it has a cruise shuttle is a false economy - TANSTAAFL and all that. This is a snapshot search of hotels within a couple of kilometres/a mile and a half of the cruise port (NB: cobbles, so not always easy walking with wheely bags even if you are very close...).

 

Cab fare will be <$10 from just about any of these places - so choose a hotel because you like it, earn points with that chain, or it's walking distance to the stuff you want to visit pre-cruise and don't worry about shuttles.

 

Not sure what your definition of 'reasonable' is, but personally I would always go for the Fairmont Lizzie if I were feeling splurgy; the Springhill Suites if money's tight; maybe the HGI for something in-between. All more than close enough to the pier for a cheab cab. Springhill is among the best deals in Old Montreal; it's simple but clean with a free brekky.

The cruise departs from Alexandria Quay (Pier).
