pattimelt Posted June 30, 2014 #1 Share Posted June 30, 2014 So my reason for asking this is twofold. My husband is working on Catalina Island, and I will need to park there to visit him on the island, and 2nd, I am going on a Princess cruise in January that leaves out of San Pedro. I am used to parking at Long Beach and hopping on Carnival. Never been on Princess, and don't know what parking is like there. Can you nice people here forward some info for me??? I'd rather not park my car there if not safe or too expensive, and I'd rather know ahead of time.. Thanks!!!
Jeff in Torrance Posted June 30, 2014 #2 Share Posted June 30, 2014 Parking at the San Pedro cruise terminal is $12 per 24-hours at the lot at the terminals. The Catalina terminal is immediately next door to the cruise terminals. I'm not sure if the lot for the Catalina terminal is still the same as in previous years. It used to charge the same rate as for the cruise terminal. http://www.sanpedro.com/spcom/catalina.htm http://www.sanpedro.com/spcom/crusshp.htm

The shuttle buses are not wheelchair accessible" How far is parking from the terminal?? My friend that I will be traveling with is in a wheelchair and I can't climb stairs into a bus or van to take a shuttle..
SadieN Posted July 1, 2014 #4 Share Posted July 1, 2014 (edited) San Pedro is a flat, open air parking lot. You will be able to drop off your friend and luggage first and then swing back around to park. We've never seen a parking lot shuttle, but we weren't looking for one either. I can't link the picture but if you go to maps.google.com and search USS Iowa you'll see how the parking is in San Pedro. *** For day trips Catalina Express sails out of other mainland ports besides San Pedro. Dana Point and Long Beach. http://www.catalinaexpress.com/ Edited July 1, 2014 by SadieN
sept10dsm Posted July 2, 2014 #5 Share Posted July 2, 2014 Sometimes you can get a hotel stay and park as well. You may want to check into that since at times, the hotel cost may be less than the parking fees.
Jeff in Torrance Posted July 10, 2014 #6 Share Posted July 10, 2014 That 2nd link says something about "A courtesy shuttle bus is provided to and from the cruise terminal on scheduled ship days. The shuttle buses are not wheelchair accessible" The shuttle bus travels in a loop between the USS Iowa, Cruise Terminal, and various points in San Pedro. http://www.sanpedro.com/SPCOM/sanpedrotrolley.htm
