T-Boy67 Posted July 1, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 1, 2014 Hey Gang, Let's get this started. I'm assuming there'll be a lot of us and a lot of Diamond & above. Tom and I look forward to seeing you all on-board. Any thoughts on Malaga? We're hoping to get to the Alhambra in Granada. Happy Sailing. Toby. Wavyd Posted November 30, 2014 #3 Share Posted November 30, 2014 Hi Toby. My partner and I just booked. It will be our honeymoon. Sailed on RCI once before (Transatlantic on Voyager) so not Diamond members. Live near to BCN so it's a journey home for us. No thoughts on Malaga as yet. Very excited for the trip though. David. Riknpat Posted January 26, 2015 #8 Share Posted January 26, 2015 Rick from Toronto on board. Diamond. There may be others amongst my friends but none have booked yet. Spent a lot of time in Spain over the years but never in Malaga so I'm planning to poke around town for the day. Its a city of over half a million and was founded by the Phoenicians so there must be something to see. For those that have done Granada and aren't interested in Malaga, I would suggest Cordoba 55 minutes on the fast train (AVE), about 75 on a regular train. Had a great time on the Adventure OTS TA last year (where the Champagne Bar became a virtual gay bar for the crossing) - but I usually stick to the smaller RCCL ships Serenade, Vision, Splendour, Grandeur etc. so I'm a little apprehensive about the huge Allure but decided to take the plunge and try it. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

chicagoGWMC Posted February 15, 2015 #21 Share Posted February 15, 2015 Hi Ricky mad Yves, This is Neil, I'm going to hand this to Vince in a minute. He's much more thorough than I am. In general though, I would suggest making reservations in advance (like now) for the entertainment you're interested in. The comedy show was pretty good, but we saw a lot of people who just showed up at show time w/o a reservation and since it was booked in advance never made it in. The MDR had pretty decent food. We had specialty dining reserved 4 of our 7 nights, I wouldn't do that again. The Italian place was very good, and is probably the only place we'll go back to again. We went to the FOD meeting a few nights, and met some nice people there. For such a big ship though, it wasn't much of a turnout. Vince will post soon. chicagoGWMC Posted February 15, 2015 #22 Share Posted February 15, 2015 Hey guys (Ricky & Yves)! I had posted a review when we returned after that 2013 cruise; you should be able to find it at http://www.cruisecritic.com/memberreviews/memberreview.cfm?EntryID=216360 Clearly our memories have changed our thoughts, specifically about the specialty restaurants. Also, I'd be surprised if RCCL hasn't tweaked a thing or two between now and then, so don't take anything as gospel. If you have any specific questions that I didn't answer, feel free to ask. chicagoGWMC Posted February 15, 2015 #23 Share Posted February 15, 2015 Oh, one more thing. The price I quoted for the soda package was for a 7-night cruise, so expect to pay more for the TA. Vince
