Dream departure time

Recommended Posts

I have never known the Dream leave Palma on its first night that early (5pm).

Depending on its proximity to its first port of call I would estimate it to be between 9pm and 11.00pm or thereabouts. If your flight is Thomson and it is late it will wait ( within reason ). If you are not flying with Thomson as a package you are cutting it a bit fine !!

They do the SOLAS compulsory safety drill in the evening before she sets sail.

We are looking at booking Dream sailing from Palma on 12th July.

The flight we are to be on arrives at Palma at 6:30pm. Does Dream sail late at night, other cruise lines we have sailed on left around 5ish.

23-00 The Dream sails from Palma. If you go on the Thomson website, select your dates then look at cruise details it will tell you there.iIt should also be on your docs you got from Thomson

We are on the Dream 9th -23rd Aug and have done an August sailing on her for quite a few years. It always sails at 11pm unless a flight is late coming in. We have sailed once at gone midnight. Lifeboat drill is 9.30pm. If your flight is late and you miss it they do a separate one next day for passengers on that flight.

we do on July 19th and i think it's 11pm sail!

:)

However as previously mentioned if a UK Thomson flight is late they'll hang around. We were on the Celebration last year and the Exeter flight was VERY late and ended up leaving a bit later from Marmaris (which we go on in August :D)

Sailing from Palma one time a flight from Manchester was delayed on the runway for more hours than the flight took due to a broken part that had to be fetched from Milton Keynes on a bank holiday. The poor delayed passengers did not turn up until 1.00am by which time the sailaway party had run out of steam with only a few teenagers having enough energy left to dance. But the ship still waited and there was food for late arrivals when they got there. The ship will wait if you are on a Thomson flight and you are delayed.

Which reminds me of the time we were going to the Canaries. Our flight should have taken off just after midday - long story but we eventually left at 22.30 which was half an hour later than the scheduled departure time.

We landed at Tenerife South - should have been Tenerife North but that airport closes at night so we were diverted so a longer transfer to the port in Santa Cruz. The coaches were all there waiting. We eventually boarded at 4 am  and they told us there was a hot buffet available for us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Appreciated the sentiment but we were more in need of bed than food.

Luckily our next port of call was one of the islands close by so they were still able to make the next destination as scheduled - but a reminder of how Thomson (having the fly/cruise package) does give you some reassurance that they will get you there! ;)
