Already booked to Fly out of Quebec City on Delta - warning

We are taking a September cruise from Boston to Quebec City and are flying on Delta airlines. I'm used to getting change of itinerary notices but glad I reread the email and looked more closely. Who knew they would try to make us fly into JFK in New York and out of LaGuardia! Apparently they want us to pick up our luggage and make our way to the other airport then go through check-in again during our layover. Ummm NO.

 

After much discussion, a supervisor agreed to let us change our departure city to Montreal. Instead of 5 nights in Quebec we will take the train to Montreal after 3 nights in Quebec and visit Montreal for a short time. Now I have to rearrange some lodging and find someplace in Montreal for a couple nights but it's better than the alternative.

 

If you fly out of Quebec and get a change in flight check your itinerary closely!

We also had a change email from Delta - and it broke our connection so that our first leg arrived after the second leg departed. When we called they tried to reroute us on a 12 hour multi-stop itinerary. We said that's not acceptable and they refunded our trip. We found a decent trip on United for the same price, I think a slightly shorter overall trip time. Now we just have to hope that connecting through ORD won't be an issue!
