St John-Coastal Cruise of Nat'l Park Question..

I am considering taking the RCI excursion to St. John for the coastal cruise and beach tour.

 

It says we have 3 1/2 hours to explore on our own. I've read that there is shopping nearby. I have never been to St. John, so I'm not sure if there are beach(es) near the drop off point, or if we need to taxi to a beach. Also, which would be the closest and/or nicest beach to go to?

I took this excursion with RCL. Enjoyed it very much. I did not shop but took a safari taxi to Trunk Beach. It was beautiful even though we got a light shower while there.

 

This is a case where the ship excursion gives a good value.

 

Very good rum punch served on the trip back to the ship.;)

Thanks for the info. Where do you catch the safari taxi and roughly how much did it cost to go to Trunk Beach? Thanks!

As soon as you get off the ferry you will see the open air "safari" taxis. I think it's $7 or $8 pp each way to trunk.
