SBNDers Posted July 8, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 8, 2014 I am considering taking the RCI excursion to St. John for the coastal cruise and beach tour. It says we have 3 1/2 hours to explore on our own. I've read that there is shopping nearby. I have never been to St. John, so I'm not sure if there are beach(es) near the drop off point, or if we need to taxi to a beach. Also, which would be the closest and/or nicest beach to go to? Thanks for any help!!

monicajay Posted July 9, 2014 #3 Share Posted July 9, 2014 I took this excursion with RCL. Enjoyed it very much. I did not shop but took a safari taxi to Trunk Beach. It was beautiful even though we got a light shower while there. This is a case where the ship excursion gives a good value. Very good rum punch served on the trip back to the ship.;)

Mameypeak Posted July 9, 2014 #5 Share Posted July 9, 2014 As soon as you get off the ferry you will see the open air "safari" taxis. I think it's $7 or $8 pp each way to trunk.
