CruisinPashmina Posted July 15, 2014 #26 Share Posted July 15, 2014 We had a wonderful crossing on June 5th...our first time back on Cunard in 19years. We really didn't expect very much, so were very happily surprised. This colorful, informative, humorous video was a lovely tribute! Have you repeated the experience? We certainly intend to cross again...as soon as it coincides with other adventures in the UK or in Europe. We thought the ship was beautiful..pretty much everywhere but the King's Court. I understand there will be work done on this yucky area during the next dry dock. Our cabin, Princess Grill assigned, and the Princess dining room were wonderful, although we did find the Grills' cocktail lounge was almost always empty on our trip...not very appealing. Wonder if that was an aberration? If you have any other travel videos, please post them. There is nothing like first hand reporting! Thanks. DarCrav Posted July 16, 2014 Author #27 Share Posted July 16, 2014 Thanks for your kind words! We haven't been fortunate yet to do another crossing, but we did just finish the Independence Day Cruise from NY up to Halifax and Boston. It was a wedding gift to our son and daughter-in-law (who eloped to Brooklyn in September) and we held our breath that these "young ones" would enjoy the voyage. And they did! Our fondest memories were of the long, leisurely dinners we had each night, especially on the one Formal evening. Our son was impressed that on the first night he ordered a lemonade and on the second night the waiter brought him another one (without him asking for it) because the waiter made a point of remembering his order from the night before. That's what I call service! We are counting the days until we do another crossing, and it may be sooner than we expect because my hubbie retired in June so maybe next year? I hope so!
